Teachers keep pace
The Peripatetic Pedagogues
kept pact with the loop leaders
and ran up their third win with
a thrilling 64-55 win over the
Scarlet Raiders.
It was a see-saw battle all. the
way until the final quarter,
when the teachers pulled ahead
with 19 big points.
They opened up a 17.10 lead
in the first quarter, but the
Scarlet Raiders came back to
whittle their margin down in the
two middle frames and started
the final session with the score
all tied up.
George Wright continued his
prolific scoring to pace the Ps
Pers as he canned 29 pants, his
biggest night of th year. Ron
Bogart was next in line with
10.
Ron Needham provided a big
portion of the offense for the
Scarlet Raiders, hitting for 23
points. Many of the left-hander's
shots were from well outside
the teachers' zone defense as he
het a hot streak with his one-
ha n dors.

the Exeter Bowling Lanes and
ends '.Saturday night — at the
same place.
However, the 80,year-old gent. leman isn't merely a spectator
at the Janes, He is one of the
most ardent competitors to visit
the popular' spot, In feet, owner
Aub Farquhar calls Amos "a

Commendable scores
Although he never took the
game up until he was 72, Amos
has recorded scores that com-
pare with the best bowlers at
the local alleys,
His highest single was a 389
and he has bad numerous
games in the "charmed" 300

been up near the 350 mark.
Only last week, bowling against
the best bowlers in the area,
he tossed a 311 game in the
"sweeps" and he and his part-
ner placed third,
In the 1954.55 season, the po-
pular enthusiast came up with
an 840 triple, which earned him
the trophy for the best triple
of the entire season in the
men's league.
He was a member of the Rin-
gers when they won the "B"
championship about six years
ago and when they set their
team mark of 3838. This score
was recorded in the three
games by the five men, in-
cluding their handicap.
When the Ringers folded,
Amos played with three diffe-
rent teams before re-organiz-
ing the Ringers last season, His
present team is made up of
several youngsters who are pre-
sently in eighth spot in the fast
