The Lambeth juniors used
the Hensall-Zurich entry to
vault out of the cellar, Mon-
day, when they scored a 7-6
win over the northern .entry in.
Lucan, Monday.
The win pulled Lambeth one
point ahead of Strathroy.
On Saturday, playing in the
small confines of the Watford
arena, the Combines had a
scare thrown into them by the
Atoms, and had to score six
tallies in the final period to
edge Watford 9-8.
However, the Combines still
have a three-point margin over
the second place Exeter Hawks.
Hawk return to battle
The Exeter entry, idle for the
past week, return to play in the
popular league when they host
Lambeth at the local arena,
Friday, They return to Watford
for a Saturday night fixture
and then play Strathroy in a
Boxing Day fixture in Exeter,
The Combines will. have a
chance to maintain their lead,
however, as they play a hone
and home series with the last
place Strathroy six.
Both games will be played
in Hensel], with the first one
tonight and the second one on
Boxing Day at 2:00 p.m.

Lambeth goals to spark the
win, with Bill Myles, Bill Gor-
man, Hugh Brookes, Ted Min-
ehlnnick and Bob Uptigrove fir-
ing singles.
Bill Shaddick again paced
the Hensall-Zurich attack, blink-
ing the light twice. Brian Bon-
thron, Larry Bedard, Wayne
Willert and Steve Kyle were
the other Combine marksmen.

Rink bounces back
to Fop ladies' group
Marian Fletcher regained
first place in 'the Exeter Ladies'
Curling league last week, when
she scored a resounding 12-5
win over Helen Sanders in the
highly competitive grouping.
The Fletcher foursome shared
the lead two weeks ago, but
dropped to second last week
when Lois Ottewell took a two-
point margin. However, the
Ottewell four dropped a 7-3
game to Jessie Shane to fall
six points behind the leaders.
Three other teams moved in-
to a tie for third spot with 47
points and have a chance at
the group honors. Kay Elston
and Cathy Southcott each pick-
ed up wins, while Bernice
Cann's Thursday group lost but
are still tied. with 47 points.
Jessie Shane's Wednesday
night squad has 46 points to
round out the teams who have
a chance to overhaul .the lead-
ers for the championship,
