The Christmas meeting of the
Womans Missionary Society of
Carmel Presbyterian Church
was held Monday evening with
president Mrs. Earl Campbell
presiding, Meditation was in
charge of Mrs, MaeDonald,
Mrs. Glenn Bell, Miss Han-
nah Murray, Mrs. MacDonald
and Mrs, Malcolm Dougall took
part in a candlelight service
centering around the hymn "0
Little Town of Bethlehem," with
the group singing the last verse
of the hymn. Mrs, E. Munn of-
fered prayer,
The group planned to pack
Christmas boxes December 14
for the sick and shut-ins of the
church.

Autumn flowers and fern
formed an attractive setting at
the home of the bride's parents
on Saturday, November 25 at
12 o'clock noon for the mar-
riage of Dorothy Mae Turner
and John Robert Taylor.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs, Harvey Turner,
RR 1 Varna, and the groom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Orville Taylor, RR 1 Exeter,
Rev, A. H. Johnston, Bruce -
field, performed 'the ceremony.
Mrs. Malcolm Dougall, Exeter,
aunt of the groom, provided
traditional wedding music and
accompained the soloist, Mr.
James Dougall,' who sang "I'll
Walk Beside 'You" and "The
Wedding Benediction":
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor -
length gown of Chantilly lace
over slipper satin. The fitted
bodice was fashioned with lily -
point sleeves and the sabrina
neckline was enhanced with
seed pearls .and iridescent se-
quins. The bouffant skirt of
nylon net featured Chantilly
lace cascades. A tiara of seed
. , pearls and sequins held her
lAgisilk illusion veil and she carried
colonial bouquet of pink ear -
nations and stephanotis.
Miss Irene Turner, sister of
the bride, was maid of honor
wearing a cornflower blue silk
organza gown featuring a scoop
neckline and bouffant skirt
with lace trim. She wore
matching accessories and car-
ried a bouquet of pink carna-
tions.
James Taylor, Harriston, was
groomsman for his brother and
guests were ushered by Wilmer
Turner, brother of the bride,
and Neil Taylor, brother of the
groom.
The reception was held in
the church parlors of St. An-
drew's United Church, Kippen.
For receiving the guests, the
bride's mother chose a blue
crepe dress with satin trim,
matching accessories and a
corsage of pink roses. The
groom's mother assisted wear-
ing a blue crepe dress, beige
accessories, and a corsage of
pink carnations.
For travelling the bride don-
ned a blue wool dress, mink
brown coat with brown and
beige accessories and a cor-
sage of pink roses.
On their return the couple
will reside on the groom's 'farm
near Hensall.
The bride is a graduate of
Stratford Teachers' College.

ning. 'rhe theme of the eve-
ning was "A teen girl's hair",

and other guests were teen•
age girls of the town, The serv-
ice was in charge of the vice-
president Cheryl Little. Patsy
Moir was in charge of the wor-
ship in which Bonnie Foster,
Barbara Schwalm and Colleen

Mrs, Ross MacDonald intro-
duced the gq.est, speakers who
demonstrated on two of the
girls, Barbara Schwalm and
.Bonnie Peters, washing, cut-
ting and setting their hair in
very attractive teen age style,
During the comb out they lec-
tured on teen age problems of
dandruff, proper way of pin
curling, pony tails and other
problems,
A rousing sing -song and ac-
tive games were enjoyed, the
meeting closing with the Friend-
ship Circle.
Initiation services
Wednesday night at the
church initiation services were
held at 7 p.m. Mrs. Robert
Blitz, Exeter, CGIT leader for
the past 20 years, and a teacher
on the staff of South Huron
District High School was guest
speaker. Mrs, Ross D. Mac-
Donald, their leader, conducted
the initiation ceremony follow-
ed with an initiation party,
Sunday, December 17 the
group will entertain the pa-
tients at Queensway Nursing
Home here with a Christmas
program, and on Christmas
Eve will present a vesper can-
dlelight, service at the church.
