beef calf club with runner-up
honors going to Emerson Gill.

4-H beef championship honors
for steers at Seaforth fair Fri-
day.
The title went to red-haired

steer Reserve honors were won
by his sister, Lila Black, who
also exhibited a Shorthorn.
In third place came Gale Wil-
son, Brussels, with the calf she
rescued from the recent fire
which burned h e r father's
barn,
Two members of the Kirkton
club — Grant Hodgins and Mo-
nica O'Shea. — placed in group
one among the steers nomina-
ted for the Queen's Guineas
competition. Grant won fourth
prize and Monica was award -
class for junior bull calves for ed. ninth.
Heifer championship honors
went to Ross Wightman, Bel-
grave, and. Georgina Kieffer,
RR 1 Wingham,
In the senior heifer class,
Donald Weigand of Dashwood
placed third; Bob Hoffman,
Dashwood, was fifth, and Ann
O'Shea, Granton, sixth.
The Blyth -B e l g r a v e club
swept first and second prizes in
the inter -club competition of
groups of three calves. Kirkton
placed' third, Bayfieldwas fifth
and Zurich placed eigth.

milk. Dinah was a grand cham-
pion of this show in 1956 and
reserve champion in 1959. She
is a large cow with a lot of
dairy character and was show-
ing in good bloom.
The reserve senior and re-
serve grand champion was
shown by Elston Speiran, Brus-
sels, a new exhibitor. She

quiet evening, were two spin-
ster sisters. Suddenly one look-
ed up from the paper she was
reading and commented:
"There's an article here telling
of the death of ,a woman's
third husband. She has had
all three, of them cremated.”
"Isn't that life for—you?"
said the other. "Some of us
can't even get one husband,
while others have husbands to
burn."
