Winnipeg, Each of the four stations was represented by eight golfers, who teed off in a 36 -hole grand aggregate battle for the RCAF Training Command honors, Scores ace The highlight of the entire match was a hole -in -one scored by Cpl. Don, McKellar of the Centralia squad. The ardent CE sportsman ac- complished the feat on the 17th hole on the Oakwood layout, This is a "hidden" hole, termed such because the golfer can not see the position of the flag from the tee, McKellar was one of the top players in.the tournament, sco- ring a 156 for his 36 -hole total. Other members of the Centra- lia team included: F/0 Rear- don, F/L Art Skidmore, F/L. Pat Clermont,. F/L Les Hain - well, F/L A. S. Turnbull, Sgt. Bernie Dunning, Sgt. A. E. I1- lingworth. W/C A. L. Ashton, acting CO of Station Centralia, presented the Air Commodore trophy to the captain . of the Winnipeg team, F/L Breffitt. Robert Sweet dies in Sarnia Robert Sweet, aged 84, hus- band of the late Minnie '(Moore) Sweet of 142 Samuel St. Sarnia, died in Sarnia on Thursday, Sept. 21. A retired bricklayer with Im- perial Oil Ltd. Mr. Sweet was a former, contractor in the Clinton area, He moved to Sar- nia in 1916 Where he was em- ployed with Imperial Oil until 1931. l:n 1937 he started operating the Dixie' booth on Wellington St., then, in 1939 moved the booth to the corner of Davis and Victoria St. where he ran the business until 1957. He is survived by a daugh• ter, Miss Myrtle Sweet of Sar- nia, a brother Frederick Sweet of Sault St. Marie, three nieces and a nephew. Interment was at Lakeview cemetery on Sept. 25.
