DONATE NEW CHURCH CAkPET—As part of its 50th anniversary celebration

Ladies celebrate anniversary,
dedicate carpet at Dashwood

Sunday, the new church car-
pet was dedicated and the La-
dies' Aid celebrated their 50th
anniversary at Zion Lutheran
Church,
Pastor T. Luft of Kitchener
preached in the morning and
Pastor K. Born of Burlington at
night, Ladies from Zurich Lu-
theran Church and Dashwood
EUB Church were guests.
Following the service the la-
dies were invited to the church,
basement for a social hour.
The president of Zion aid, Mrs.
Milfred Merner, welcomed eve-.
ryone and invited Bill Becker,
president of the congregation,
to speak. Mrs. Ervin Rader
read a list of all the presi-
dents, Those present were in-
vited to the platform, presented
with corsages and invited to
give something outstanding dur-
ing their term of office.
Mrs. Jacob Schroeder, char-
ter member, was also given a
corsage.
Mrs. Herb Wein assisted by
Mrs. Ernest Koehler conducted
a brief in memoriam service.
,Mrs. Ken Keller gave a history
-of the 'ladies aid. Pastor Zorn

briefly.
Mrs. Milfred Merner and
,Mrs. Herb Wein poured team
from a table centred with an an-
niversary cake flanked by can-
dlebra. The young married la-
dies of the congregation served.
Mrs. Charles 'Snell and Mrs.
Whitney Brokenshire thanked
the ladies on behalf of their
aids.
Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid
First fall meeting of the la-
dies aid was held Wednesday,
Sept. 13, with group 3 in charge
and Mrs. Ervin Rader con-
vener.

the accordion, Mrs, Merner
read a poem entiled, "The Pas-
tor," followed by prayer.
Mrs. Milfred Merner, the
president, conducted the busi-
ness, Final plans were made
for the anniversary services.
Several ladies will attend the
fall rally of the LWML at Strat-
ford Monday, Sept, 25.
New GNO officers
First, meeting of the fall for
the GNO club was held Sept.
14 at the home of Mrs, George
Tieman.
New officers are: president,

president, Mrs. Russel Hop -
croft; secretary, Mrs. Milfred
Merner,

with the membership and at-

ker, Bonnie Mason, Beth Snell
and Beverly Becker sang a
trio.
A question and answer period
was conducted by Rev. James
and Mrs, Charles Snell, Mrs,
Mervyn Tiernan reported on her
visit to Redbird Mission in Ken.

day, Sept. 24, as its anniver-
sary services are to be held
