FRANCIS McEWEN Double ring nuptial rites White and yellow gladioli with fern and lighted candel- abra made a lovely setting in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich, on Saturday, September 2, for the wedding of Janet Ileen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Jake Reder, Jr., Bayfield, to Francis Murray McEwan, Clin- ton. son of Wit. and Mrs. Frank McEwan, Huron St., Clinton. The Rev, Paul Fischer offic- iated at the double ring cere- mony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in floor -length nylon organza over taffeta, styled with portrait neckline and •Illy point sleeves. She earried a white orchid with yellow roses and stephanotis. Miss Sharon Reder, Bayfield, was her sister's maid of honor, in street -length yellow nylon taffeta, with full skirt, bateau neckline and short sleeves. She carried a crescent bouquet of white shasta daisies and white ribbon, Bridesmaids were Margaret Wallis and the bride's aunt, Mrs. Albert Schilbe, in green dresses, styled identically to the dress of the maid of honor. They carried crescent bouquets of yellow shasta daisies and yellow ribbon. Cameron Reder, younger bro- ther of the bride, Bayfield, was ringbearer, dressed in white coat and dark trousers, and carrying the rings oh a satin cushion. Groomsman was 'Murray Cut. A ler, Burlington, formerly of Clinton. and the ushers were Larry Powell. RR 3 Clinton, friend of the groom, and Orval Schilbe, Clinton, uncle of the bride. Music was played on the church organ by Ronald Klopp, Zurich, who accompanied the soloist, Miss Mary Ellen Thiel, Zurich, as she sang, "Oh, Per- fect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer". For the reception which fol. lowed in the church basement, the tables were decorated with baskets of gladioli and daisies. The bride's mother received in light brown brocaded satin sheath with beige accessories, and a corsage of yellow roses. Thegroom's r wore rose- wood chiffon over a lace sheath, a rosewood hat and green ac- cessories and a corsage of pink roses. Guests attended from Leam- ington, Zurich, Exeter, London, Chatham and Florida, as well as from Bayfield and Clinton. For travelling on a short wedding trip to Niagara Falls and the Thousand Islands, the bride donned a beige brocaded satin sheath with matching jacket and brown accessories, and red rose corsage, Upon their return the young couple will live in Clinton. The groom is on staff at the Clinton News -Record, and the bride is tenographer at the Bank of lontreal, Clinton Branch, Wed in Brampton church Baskets of white and blue gladioli and white mums formed the setting in St, Paul's United Church, Brampton, Sat- urday, September 2 at 1;30 p.m. for the double ring mar- .,riage of Miss Millie Funk and Mr. Donald Page, both of Brampton. The bride is the daughter of Air. and Mrs. Edward Funk, Rit 2 Hensall; the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wil- liam Stewart, Brampton, The Rev, J. M. Salmon officiated. Given in marriage by her father the bride chose a floor - length gown of white organ- za, the skirt appliqued with hand clipped Alecon lace to match bodice and sleeves. The fitted bodice featured a sabri- na neckline of sequins and pearls, a crystal trown style headpiece held her elbow - length veil of silk illusion, and her bridal bouquet was red roses and stephanotis, Ailatron of honor, Airs. Ger- ald Funk, B r a in p t o n, and bridesmaids, Mrs. Garnet Buck, Streetsville, and Miss Bonnie Godden, Ethel, were identically gowned in sheath apricot taffeta with overskirts of matching material and mat- ching head pieces. They tar- ried cascades of baby mums to match costumes. Best Man was Mr. Brian Morris of Brampton and Wil- liam Stewart, brother of the groom, and Gerald Funk, of Brampton, cousin of the bride, ushered. Mr, David Esplin of Brampton as organist provided traditional wedding musk and accompanied the Snioist, Mr, Robert Rice of Streetsville, who sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "0 Perfect Love. At a reception held in Yel. lbw Briar inn, Brampton, at- tended by 60 guests, the bride's mother received wearing a blue brocaded sheath dress with beige accessories, and corsage of Talisman roses, The groom's mother wag gowned in a navy lace over taffeta, accessories in navy and red rose corsage. For travelling to points north the bride changed in a navy knit suit, white feather hat and accessories in white. She wore an orchid eorsage. They will reside in Bramp- ton. Tag Day will be held in Exe ter and district on Saturday, September 30 with Mrs. R. E Russell, Mrs. E. D. Bell, Mrs Glen Alickle and Mrs. Ed Bra dy in charge. All the districts are being contacted to partici- pate in this project, Miss A, Claypole annoupeed that five nurses' aids -in -train- ing would receive their caps on Friday and a new class would be starting next week. A pic- nic table and barbecue table and cover was purchased by the Auxiliary early in the summer to add to the barbecue at the nurses' residence. It was voted to install an all -station aerial for the TV there. President Mrs. J, G. Dunlop and vice-president, Mrs. Ger- ald Godbolt were named voting delegates for the Provincial Hospital Auxiliaries Convention to be held at the Royal York, Toronto, October 23, 24 and 25. The regional meeting for this district will be held at Wood- stock on Wednesday, Septem- ber 27with a tour of both the Ontario and General Hospitals. Any Auxiliary member may at- tend this meeting by contact- ing the corresponding secretary, Mrs. V. Armstrong by the pre- vious Saturday, The .fall rummage sale will be held October 14 with Mrs. E. D. Howey, Mrs. W. G. Sel- don, Mrs. Harold Taylor and Mrs, Robert S o uth cot t in charge. The problem this year is the 3(."70 tax which applies to clothing exclusive of children's apparel. Communications from Victo- ria Hospital, London, indicated that the two nurses -in -training, who have received the auxiliary scholarships are making good progress and warrant this year's bursary. The quarterly social meeting will be held in October with speakers Mr. E, D. Bell, hospi- tal director, and Mrs. K. R. Hillier, London, regional aux- iaries president.
