At present she is in great pain but the doctors hope she will be able to go to her daugh- ter's in a month and be able to return, to Lucan in two months. Mrs. Fairies has had several broken bones before. Orientation Day Last Tuesday was Orientation Day at Medway for Lucan Grade* 8 pupils, when they were tested in general know- ledge, English and mathemat- ics. (One pupil, Ann George, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. H. George received a 100.% mark in English. .kThe pupils were given a free lunch, taken on a tour of the school and given an opportunity to participate in the sport events in the afternoon. The school made a splendid showing this year, .25 of a class of 26, being successful and eight taking honors. All but ono (David George) were pres- ent Friday night at the ban- quet, which was 'held in the Anglican church basement. Sitting at the head table from right to left ,were Rev. and Mrs. G. W. Sach, Mrs. Harold Cobleigh, Mr, Robert Willis, principal, and Mrs. Robert Jenkins, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Engel and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hodgins., Larry Lewis' toast- to the school was replied to by Mrs. Harold Cobleig lo Grade 1 teacher, who had taught 18 of the 25 graduates, some before the burning of the old school on March 12, 1952, some who be- gan their education in the Anglican Parish Hall and some in the United Church school- room and the remainder in the new school opened on March. 22, 1.854. Auxiliary bingo Thursday evening but the jack pot will remain $175 in 57 calls as no one was successful in winning it, Mrs. Pat Crudge of Lucan won the $5 consolation prize. The first line of "Share the Wealth” was won by Mrs, A. Holland of Exeter, the second part by Mrs. Russell Goddard of Ltican and the full card was split between Mrs, E. Dut- ton of London and Mr. Ted Bridger 'of Lucan. Mrs. E. Murray Dixon dies in garage By GORDON MORLEY BRINSLEY Murray Emerson Dixon, 48, was found dead on Friday, Jime 23 in the McGillivray Township farm garage of his nephew, Andrew Dixon, RR 2 Ailsa Craig, with whom he lived. Surviving are two brothers, Earl and Wilfred, both of RR 2, Ailsa Craig; two sisters, Mrs, Jack (Olive) Rotten, Gorric and Mra. George (Laura) Lec- kie, Waterloo. The Rev. E. 0, Lancaster, President Mrs. David Kcstle reported on the Presidents' Conference at Guelph which she attended. Over 400 were in attendance.
