prizes for second -year students
in the faculty of law, Dal-
housie University, Halifax, N.S.

tive of this community„ was
honored on the occasion of his
retirement from the teaching
profession and in recognition
of 35 years spent as a teacher

Mr. Fairbairn retires as pub -

years he has been principal

the Elliott Fairbairn Public
School.
At the ceremonies last Wed-
nesday a scroll on behalf of
the town was given to Mr.
Fairbairn by Mayor Vance,
and a large bouquet of roses
to Mrs. Fairbairn.
A large picture of Mr. Fair-
bairn was presented to the

and a small replica to his wife.
Many other gifts and con-

presented to mark Mr. Fair-
bairn s 48 years as an educa-
