ter was announced this week,
Exeter will play its first
game on Friday, June 16, When
the girls invade Winthrop and
the first home game is sched-
used for Tune 29 when they take
on RCAF Clinton.

GOLF COURSE OPENS SATURDAY—The Exeter Golf Course being developed by
Allan Westcott on the St. Marys road will be open for play on a temporary basis ,
this Saturday. Eight holes will berovided with temporary greens p y g ens and tees for the '
first seasm while a permanent nine -hole layout is being developed. The course is
about one mile east of No, 4 highway. Picture shows front of the new clubhouse.

RCAF Centralia ' dropped an
8-0 decision to St, Thomas Sat-
urday night in their third start
ir. Memorial Softball League
action.
The game was 'originally
scheduled for St. Thomas but
due to bad weather it was
switchedto the Centralia dia-
mond. The loss was the second
of the year of Centralia against
one victory.
The airmen were oulhit in
the ball game 84 and St,
Thomas made their hits pay
off for an equal number of
runs. The teams committed. a
total of seven errors with 5t
Thomas booting two and Cen-
tralia five.
Al Wiper started the game
for Centralia before he was
relieved in the top of the]
eighth by Lennox. Anderson
was the winning pitcher for
St. Thomas and he helped his
own cause by picking, 4tp two
hits and driving in an equal
number of runs.
Warren of St Thomas also
had a good day at the plate
with three singles, knocking in
two runs. Mattis also drove in
two tallies when he belted a
home run with a man on base.
Centralia limited ,5t. Thomas
to three until, the seventh in-
ning when they exploded for
five runs,

right where they left off last
year in the Recreation Softball
I, Ioop when they downed Credi-
t ton 6-4 in Crediton.
The game, which was played
on Wednesday, June 7, was the
first of the year for both clubs.
The Kinsmen were group
champions last year while
Crediton is a new entry into
the league,
• "flinger" Bell was the win-
ning pitcher and he went the
distance in posting his first win
of the season. Slaght and
England made up Crediton's
battery and the whole Crediton
team showed up well against
last year's champs.

to Belgrave
Aub Farquhar's softball nine
lost their second game in a
row to Belgrave Thursday
night when they came out on
the short end of an 11-4 count.
The game was played in Hen -
sail and gave Exeter a record
of one win and two losses in
Huron Softball League action.
Belgrave only outhi.t Farqu-
har's boys nine to seven but
they managed to bunch them
for 11 runs while Exeter could
only manage four.
Jim Coultis ably handled the
pitching chores for Belgrave
and most of the Exeter boys
had trouble getting to him for
base hits. Dufaure and Gifford
both .pitched' for Exeter and
gave tip 6hlye..,fpur bases on
balls,' but were lialnpe d in
their efforts when~ their team-
mates committed five errors

Belgrave drew first blood in
the opening stanza when: they
pushed across a run to take
an early lead that they never
lost. They then got two more
runs in the third and three
more in the fifth to build up

Marks 50 years
in UC ministry
Rev. F. E. Clysdale, a for-
mer minister at Main Street
United Church and.now living
retired in London, was hon-
ored on the fiftieth anniver-
sary of his ordination by the
gift of a signet ring and a bou-
quet of flowers.
The presentation took place
at the summer home of Mr. and
Mrs. Clysdale, Grand Bend.
Mr. Clysdale was ordained in
Central Methodist C h u r c 11,
Stratford in 1911.
For 36 of his years in the
