Institute met in the town hall
on Thursday, May 18 with

The immaculate Heart of
Mary Catholic Women's League,
Grand Bend, held its meeting
May 8 in St. Damien's School
with the new president, :Mrs.
P'eter Masse, presiding.
Rev. Father W. G. Smith
opened the 'meeting and intro-
duced the guest speakers of the
evening who were 'Miss Cathe-
rine Toal, national vice-presi-
dent and Mrs. H. R. Ferris,
diocesan vice-president.
Miss Toal gave the history
of the founding of the CWL
which began on a small level
in 1920 and entered into pro-
vincial levels in 1948. Mrs.
Ferris urged the members to
attend fall conventions and
deanery meetings whenever
possible.
After the meeting the mem-
bers enjoyed browsing through
a good 'selection of religious
