Smith, the Manager, has announced. Open house will be held at the branch all next week, Visitors will be shown the new features and treated to refreshments in the staff rooms, Now fully au -conditioned, the B of M .office :has been enlarged by some 1,500 square feet with construction of a large addition at the rear of the building and the existing part of the structure has been modernized to match the new extension. A prominent feature of the renovated bank- ing room is a streamlined counter, which has ac- commodation for five tellers in low wickets. There were four wickets before. For safety -deposit -box customers, three pri- vate coupon booths have been installed close to a new steel -and -reinforced -concrete vault, replacing the previous two booths. Additional fire -proof storage space, for the B of M's books and records, and new staff rest rooms are located in the basement.. Other new features in the bank include flu- orescent lighting, and non-skid rubber -tile flooring. 0. Roy Moore, London architects, drew up the plans for the alterations, which were carried out by Toten Construction •Company, also of Lon- don, Opened in 1874 Now in its eighty-seventh year, the bank established here in February, 1874, when Exeter's population was only .about 800. It was originally an office of the Molson's Bank, which later merged \vith the B of M. The first premises were located at the cor- ner of Main and Huron streets. In 1902, new quar- ters were acquired near the intersection of Main and John streets and business was conducted there until the B of M's present premises were occupied in 1943. In the 10 -game series with Larry's Supertest, the pool sharks emerged with only a 52 - pin margin. On Monday, the Supertest six won three of the five games and scored a 59 -pin margin in the pinfall column to take a 4.2 lead into the Tuesday night battle. However, the l3illiards re- served the score when they won three games and copped the pintail by, a mere 91. pins. Simon Nagel sparked the Bil- liards in their Tuesday night' The Windmills won the re- maining two games and copped the total pinfG" Dick Webber' paced the win- ners in the semi-final with a neat 78 triple, while Bob Os- good took his team down to de- feat with a sparkling 750 mark. Both athletes amassed 18 points out of a possible total of 20. • Ironically, en a day when the high jump records were falling, these were the only events the two champions failed to win. Glover finished second. behind Boyle and Terri was defeated by Betty Thomp- son. And, it was Boyle and Miss Thompson who finished as runners-up to the two cham- pions in their respective divi•' cions. As usual, competition ran high in the meet, and in some events, as many as 40 young athletes entered. In some di- visions, two •ended up in a tie for top spot and •a flip of the coin decided the winner. Where time permitted, special events were run off to break the tie.
