Toronto, Monday.
The Marlboros, who finished
last in the standing this year,
had :the first pick in the draft,
and quickly put the rugged de -i
feilsemen on their list. The

from four of the six NHL teams.

member of the Exeter Hawks,
who won the Shamrock ;junior
league title,
Bob Davidson, bead scout of
the Toronto Maple Leafs has
been on hand at several games
the youngster played in the
junior league and his assist-
ants, Walter "Turk" f3roda and
Vic Loughleen have also been
interested bystanders.

At camp last year
The grade 10 student at SH,
DHS attended. the Marlboros
camp last fallat the Maple
Leaf Gardens, but at that time
was only 15 and was not old
enough to be drafted. He cele-
brated his 16th birthday on.
April 5 of this year.
However, he looks anything
but a 16 -year-old, as ie car-
ries 208 pounds on his 6'1"
frame.
Chipchase, who started to
play hockey when he was 10,
performed for the Hensall pee
wees five year ago when they
lost in the "D" final of the
Goderich tournament by one
shot on goal.
He graduated to the bantam
Rquadand was a member of
the team that was upset by
Mildhiay in the WOAA finals
last year. This year, as a juve-
nile, his team was ousted by
Zurich who eventually lost to
the OMHA champions.
In 1959-60 he was a defense -
man on the Hensall midget
squad that won the Kinsmen
grand championship in their
annual tournament. He was also
a stalwart of the team that
copped the "D" honors in this
year's event.
Alt -around athlete
However, Chipchase has not
spent all his time playing hoc-
key. He played in the outfield
of the Hensall midget squad
that Won the OMBA "D" title
last year and also performed as
a. bantam when Hensall won
the WOAD title for two straight
years.
At SHAHS, Chipchase was
one of the stars of the 1960
football team, although his
team only won one game. tlow-
ever, the powerful fullback
was the main threat in the
lineup and his bruising rushes
