The regular meeting of the
Ladies' Aid Society was held at
the home of Mrs. Gerald Carey
with the first vice-president,

The ladies are donating six
layettes for the bale • to be sent
for relief work very shortly.
Plans for a strawberry sup-

On Monday evening, May 8
the Goshen WMS entertained
neighbouring societies. at a
special thankoffering service.
Their guests included socie-
ties from Zurich, Turner's
Church and Varna.
The worship service was led
by Mrs, Melvin Elliott assisted
by Mrs. Roy McBride 'and Mrs.
James Keys. ' Words of wel-
come were extended by Mrs.
Bruce Keys.
Mrs. Robert McKinley intro-
duced the guest speaker of the
,evening, Mrs. Don Irwin, a
missionary on furlough from
Korea, following five years of
service. there. She brought an
enlightening illustrated talk lo
a fa•seinated (audience which.
filled the church, She and her
husband .spent five years on
the Canadian +Mission in Korea
and are planning to return this
August.
She stressed. the poverty-
stricken 'conditions of the Ko-,
rean people -making them real-
ize that the need of mission
work has no limit if Christians
are to help the needy and
spread Christianity throughout
the world.
Several musical, numbers
added to the program including
a trumpet •solo by Mrs. Clare
McBride, a trio by ,Mrs, H. Ra-
der, Mrs, K. Breakey and
Mrs. A. Amacher of Zurich:
a duet by Mrs. F. Falconer
and Mrs. S. Johns accompa-
nied by Mrs. E. Crich, from
Turner's Church, a duet by
Mrs. W. Taylor and Mrs. R.
Stephenson accompanied. by
Mrs. R. Stirling from Varna;
a duet by Mrs. E. Hayter and
Mrs. R. Peck ,accompanied by
Mrs Bruce Keys.
Mrs. E. Hayter acted as or-
ganist for the evening and
Mrs. J. Robinson conveyed
thanks to all who had helped
to make the evening so suc-
cessful,
A social hour in the base-
ment brought a memorable
evening to -a 'close.
Mrs. D. Irwin spent Monday
night at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Bruce Keys. On Tuesday
morning accompanied by Mrs.
B. Keys, 'Mrs. Irwin paid a
visit to Goshen School, donning
her Korean costume of blue

the hours of 2:00 4:00 in the
afternoon and 7:39 to 3;00 in
the evening,
10 -point check.
As usual, the department will
follow the 10 -point safety pro-
cedure as recommended by the
Canadian Highway Safety Coyne
ell. It includes a check of foot
and hand brakes front lights,
rear lights, directional signals,
steering, tires, exhaust system,
glass, windshield wipers, rear-
view mirrors and horn.
Any defects found by the
police will he noted and the
operator will have the oppor-
