Some 160 sisters in Kin, rep-
resenting the area from Hen-
sall to Aylmer, Woodstock to
Simcoe, gathered Friday night
at the Exeter Legion Hall for
their annual Zone D inter -club
meeting." Hostesses were the
17 local Kinettes.
Although guests travelled
through near -freezing rain to
attend the meeting, once in-
side the hall they were greeted
with an air of spring. Decora-
tions in purple and yellow were
in bright arbors of flowers,
streamers above and basket -
type table centres.
Still with spring in mind.
they heard fashion experts tell
about basic trends for this
year's spring -into -summer en-
sembles and hair styles. Miss
33. Graves, head of a large
better dress •department, and
Miss F. McKenzie, fashion de-
sign specialist. told about coin-
ing fashion trends. They il-
lustrated their talk with sketch-
es and samples.
Miss Graves said, contrary
to most beliefs, dress designs
do not change quickly. She
showed how good basic models
are used always and only mod-
ified by new style ideas.
"We can tell as far ahead
as 11 months by the sketches
and fabric samples we receive
just what will sell best."
