A good .crowd attended the
Good Friday service at St.
James church conducted by the
rector, the Rev. E. 0. Lan-
caster, taking the service, "The
seven last words", with special
music, by the ,choir.
On Easter Sunday, the rec-
tor, the Rev. E. O. Lancaster,
gave the Easter message and
conducted the service of Holy
Communion with special ,music
by the choir.
The white flowers on the re-
table at the altar were given
by Mrs, H. Mur'less in fond
and loving memory of her
mother, Mrs, F. Harrison.
Easter lilies were also placed
on the organ.
A. good congregation attend-
ed the service.
United church
The ipinister, the Rev, G,
W. Sach, took for his Easter
sermon "What is there beyond
the grave?" "Because I Jive,
ye shall live also." Miss Marj•
orie Donaldson sang "The
Holy City" with music by the
choir.
On Sunday, April 9 "The
Lord's supper" will be admin-
istered at 2 p,m.
On Thursday evening, April
6 at 8,30 p.m. the Women's
Federation will have a special
Easter meting when Mrs. lien
Saulnier of Lucan will -show
pictures on Britain and Europe
in the Sunday School room of
the church.

A party was held at Nell's
school on . Wednesday evening
for Mr and 'Mrs. Wilfred Beib-
er, the former Miss Mary Jane
Swan of St. Marys.
An address of best wishes
was read by Mr. Pat Marrian
with Mr. Clarence Carter pre-
senting a gift of money on be-
half of friends and neighbors
to the young couple who will
reside near Mooresville.
The evening was spent with
cards and dancing enjoyed with
Clark's orchestra from Credi-
ton •supplying the music.
WA and Guild
'Mrs. Alan Hill entertained
the ladies of St. James church
on Thursday with Mrs. Andy
Carter presiding for the WA
meeting. -
She was assisted in the de-
votional by 'Mrs. J. H. Paton
and the Rev. E. 0. Lancaster.
Letters of thanks were read
from Bishop Hives of Kenora
for bale of clothing received
and from Canon Zimmerman
for quilt received for Mohawk
Institute, Brantford. A donation
was sent towards the gift of
a life membership for Mrs.
Elliott, vice-president of the
WA Diocese of Huron.

at the Exeter Nursing Home
from pneumonia,
The former Nellie Dagg,
daughter of the late Frank and
Maggie (Simpson) Dagg she,
was born en Jot 12, con.' 2
McGillivary townshili, January,
21, 1871, -
Sixty-nine years ago she
inarried, John 'Gilmour. They
resided in Mooresville where
Mr. Gilmour conducted a wood-
working shop. He died in 1933.
In 1943 she married William
Cornish, They resided in the
same place till a few years
ago when Mrs. Cornish's health.
failed. She spent eight months
with her son, Tom, and then
eight months in a nursing
home in Lucan till it closed
two years ago. She has since
been in. the Exeter Nursing
Home, Exeter.
Mrs. Cornish is survived by
her husband and twin sons,
Thomas Gilmour who resides
McGillivray township, and
William Gilmour of Fort Erie,
16 grandchildren and 20 great

spent Easter Sunday with her
nephew, Mr, George Prest, and
Mrs. Prest and family and will
visit other relatives this week
in that community.

attended the banquet on Thurs-
day at the ;Ridgetown Agricul-
ture School when the first year
students entertained their par-
ents. Their son, Jim Scott, a
student, returned home with
them for his summer vacation.
