The. six contests were wit- nessed, by three NHL scouts And Several youngsters came up with superb -showings to press the hg league onlookers, Gerry Brown, former coach of the Toronto Marlboros of the Junior "A" league and Vic Loughlead were on hand to scout the youngsters for the Toronto Maple Leafs, while Farmer McFadden. for m e r coach of Seaforth and Burling- ton in the Junior "13" ranks. watched for the Detroit, Red Wings. Gary Doak, a :first year member. of rime Goderich squad, was chosen as the most valu- able player in the. tournament, and was given an autographed. hockey stick from the Toronto Maple Leafs, The flashy defenseman has played a couple ot games for the Goderich Saities in the fast junior "B" rinks, and wag a standout in both games for the "8" champions in the Hensall tourney, Although he only scored two goals, he set up several others with his fancy s'tickwork, old was the mainstay of the defensive unit., which was only scored on once. in the two games -they played. Craig Chapman, a Hensall bantam, emerged as the scor- ing star of the annual event, coming up with four goals for the "D" champs. The right winger scored one against Rip- ley in the series opener, and came. back with all three goals in the win over Lucan. He also assisted on three other Hensall markers, Exeter trounced Exeter faced off in the open- er against the Goderich outfit and were no match for the lake town boys, comprised mainly of members of last year's un- defeated bantam "8" Ontario ehampiens.
