The Dominion ;Hotel has been
in the johnston family since
'the early 1001e. And Ross is the
third .generation to :manage the
establishment. His grandfather,
Robert R D s Johnston, Dur
chased the hotel in the early
years of the century and it was
later owned by Mel Johnston,
Ross' father.
Popular for food
The hotel has been one of the
most popular caliper spots in
this section of Western Ontario
for a number of years. It at-
tracts large crowds from all
over the province, and on Mo-
thers' Day, 1900, the hotel
served 327 persons.
The record attendance. for
one weekend was 715 Patrons.

With the recent addition and
renovation, the 115.year-old ho-
; tel has taken On a modern new
• look. The two additional rooms
are both bright and cheery, and
are furnished with comfortable,
up-to-date furnishings.

mits music throughout the pub -

The Johnstons provide a true
home -cooked meal for their
dining lounge guests, and they
do all their own cooking and
baking in the spotless kitchen,
Ross and his wife, Marg,
dle most of the cooking chores,
but Mrs. Alel Johnston still has
her "pet jobs" and fries all the
.fish and makes the salads,
At present the hotel has 14
persons on staff. However, it
is expected that the staff will
i increase to .18 or 20 to handle
the extra work, especially in
the summer,
