On February 23, 1956, the first Lions Club was chartered in India for example, with 23 members. Today, India is proud to boast of 54 clubs with a membership of over 3,000 mem- bers. One of the first major projects of Lions in India was to provide a glas sof milk per dayfor 20 children. Today this project has reached such proportion, that 42,000 children receive a glass of milk in 34 cities. Lion Harold was pleased to install four new members into the Grand Bend Club as well as presenting attendance wards to 20 members.
