Trivitt Memorial Church, Exe-
ter, will present a "Nativity
Play.” Following the service the
children will be entertained in
the church schoolroom.

Wednesday, December 16 et

Christmas school, entertainment
will be held and on Sunday, De-
cember 20 at 11 a.m. Christmas
Sunday Service will be held. At
7:30 p.m. there will be White
Gift service, and presentation of
Christmas cantata by the choir.
Saturday, December 12 there
will be the annual Christmas
party for children of Hensall and
community at 2 p,m,, when San -
ea Claus will arrive and distri-
bute bags of candy, to be fol-
lowed with several comedy car-
toOns in the hall. This project
sponsored by the Chamber of
Commerce and Hensall Legion
Branch 468. A Santa Claus pa.
rade will also be one 61 the high-
lights of the party.
Sunday, December 13 the chil-
dren of members of the Legion
and Ladies Auxiliary will be en-
tertained to a Christmas party in
the Legion Hall at 1:30 p.m.

split contests
Hensall minor hockey teams
split a double header with Clin,
ton in the Hensall arena Friday
night as the two towns baptized
their WOAA hockey schedules
for the '59-'60 season.
Hensall midgets skated to a
4-2 triumph while the bantams
came out on the short end of a
7-2 count,
Goals by Larry Jones of Hen -
salt and Cummings of Clinton
tied the two midget clubs at the
eial of the first period. However,
Jack Chipchase put the eventual
winners one up at 16:30 of the
second period., Brian Bonthron
opened the third period scoring
with Hensall's third marker of
the game at the 55 second mark.
Jaques' at 3:45 rounded out the
Hensall scoring, Keith Allen
scored late in the final period for
Clinton.
Clinton bantams roll
Sparked by two goal efforts
from Gilks and Cooper, Clinton
bantams rolled to a decisive 7-2
victory over Hensall. McCrae,
Calquhoun and McAuley sank
the other Clinton tallies.
Jerry Chapman and Robert
MeNaughton blinked the light for
the homesters.
Clinton fired five goals before
a retaliation could be made from
ffensall. The winners took a 2-0
first period lead and built it to
5-1 by the end of the second. In
the final frame, the visitors out-
scored Hensall 2-1.

Thieves entered Fink's plumb-
ing and heating store on Friday
and removed $75 from a drawer
in the office.
They entered the rear door of
the building, which was tenlack-
ed, while the owner, Ed Fink,
was having hutch in his apart-
ment over the store. •
Mrs. Harry Hoy, sister-in-law
of Mr. Fink, and bookkeeper at
the store, discovered the theft
when she went to get some
change from the drawer later
in the afternoon.

the lucky winner of a 20 -piece

Hardware, Saturday. Miss Dore

Mrs. Bob Lavery, on the staff
of Brown's IGA, tripped while
coming down her apartment
stairs •spraining her left foot,
and will be confined to her home
for a few days.
Alvin Lavery, 11, grade 6
pupil at Hensall Public School,
is coming along nicely following
a recent accident when he frac-
tured :the bones of the three
centre toes of the right foot. Al-
though his foot is in a cast Alvin
still attends school regularly. He
is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Milt-
on Lavery.
Close brush
with death
Alfred Smith had a close brush
with Reath Friday night, which
fortunately ended with minor in-
juries to his face.
He was crossing the intersec-
tion et King and Nelson when
he was struck by a car travel-
ling east driven by Jerome Jef-
fery, 19, of Zurich, who applied
the brakes thus averting a
tragedy.
Chief of Police S. R. Davis,
who investigated, stated that no
charges will be laid.

for UC society
Mrs, T. C. Coates gave a mes-
sage "The spirit of Christmes-e-
others" and Mrs. Jim McAl-
lister spoke on the theme "Christ-
mas Eve in Bethlehem" con-
cluding with an appropriate
poem, Greta Lammie play-
ed Christmas carols on the vio-
lin.

and was -assisted in the devotions
by Mrs. E. Sproat and Mrs. H.
Whittaker. -Mrs. T. J. Sherrie:

South Huron Hospital last Mon-
