spoke briefly pointing out the ad-
vantage of such visitations and
the necessity for the co-opera-
tion of parent, teacher and child,
Mr. Sam Sereaton, Luean's
new recreational director, gave
a short talk on recreation and
the part his department plays
in the life of a child. "Recrea-
tion,” be said, "is all leisure
time constructive activity, ac-
tive or passive, voluntarily en
gaged in by people or individu-
ads, which either relaxes or
stimulates and give enjoyment

The Lucan-Ilderton Combines,
after getting off to a slow -start,
have won their last two games in
quite a nice fashion. They have
shown considerable dash and are
playing like a real "hungry"
team.
They sheet Mitchell on Friday
at the Lucan Arena and having
lost to Mitchell in .he previous
encounter, will really be out to
reverse that loss to a win. It
should be a real good game of
hockey—so. come out and cheer
the boys along to make it three
in a row.
In the Shamrock Minor Hockey
League, both the Pee Wees and
the Bantams won their games
quite handily last Saturday. On
Monday evening, due to some
mix-up, Oakridge Acres did not
arrive in time to play the Lucan
Midgets and therefore forfeited
the game (and two points) to
the Lucan Midgets, who are do-
ing quite nicely in the league,
The boys are playing Med
hoceky and some of the parents
should really come out and lend
a little vocal support. After all,
the two most important people
in
the world to a youngster are
his parents. The youngster needs
a sense of achievement and the
parent can give approval to that
achievement better than anyone
else. So how about it Mom and
Dad? Saturday afternoons, the
Pee Wees and Bantams play and
on either Monday or Tuesday
night the Midgets and Juveniles
play. If you are in doubt, just
ask your son, he'll tell you when.
Just a note to mothers with
pre-school *age children. How
would you like to have some ice -
time in the afternoons for just
yourselves and the little ones?
If you are interested, please
call the arena and we'll arrange
for one or possibly two afternoons
each week for some skating
time for just you alone,
