boye, and the late Mr. Tasko,
and Arthur Meighen Burt, son
of Mrs. Frank Squires, Stratford
And the late Dr. Charles Burt,
,on Saturday, November 14 at
8.30 p.m.
Father J, Kelly performed the
ceremony and Paul Dietrich,
11Tt. Carmel, played the wedding
-music and accompanied the solo-
ist, Mrs. Bernadette Pickard,
Strathroy, who sang "Mother at
Your Feet is Kneeling" and
"Panus Angelicus,"
Given in marriage by her
brother, Lewis Tasko, the bride
chose a floor -length gown of "1
do" taffeta with empire waist-
line, scoop neckline, long pointed
sleeves, bouffant skirt with chap-
el train. Both bodice and skirt
were appliqued with mid- gui-
pure lace flowers. A pearl tiara
with crystal tear drops in front
held her finger-tip veil of French
silk illusion. She carried a cas-
cade of white button mums and
tawny gold roses.
Her sister, Mrs. Ross Keys,
Watford, as matron of honor
wore a cocktail -length gown of
royal blue velvet with princess
line front drop waistline at side,
three-quarter push-up sleeves
end unpressed pleated bouffant
skirt and royal blue feather band
headpiece. She carried white
carnations and regal gold roses.
Dressed identically were the
bridesmaids, Miss Barbara Allen,
London, and Miss Barbara Jar -
elan, Seaforth.
Barry McManus, Stratford,
was groomsman and ushers were
Mick Welsh, Stratford and Rob-
ert Wilkes, London.
A reception was held at the
Colonial Hotel, Grand. Bend
where the bride's mother re-
ceived in a rosewood silk peau•
de-soi sheath dress with match-
ing jacket and corsage of bronze
mums and white roses. The
groom's mother chose mink -
toned crepe with brown acces-
sories and tawny gold .. rose cor-
sage.
For travelling in northern
Michigan the bride changed to
a :chocolate brown suit, orange
ice accessories and muskrat
jacket and corsage of white roses
And white mums.
The couple will make their
home in London.
The bride is a graduate of St.
Joseph's School of Nursing, Lon-
don.
Skinner -Boyle

Friday, November 20 at 7 p.m.

Bronze And gold mums deco•
rated the church and wedding
music was furnished by Mr.
Lawrence Wein, organist of the
church.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther the bride wore a waltz -
length dress of white lace over
Flipper satin, featuring a lace
jacket with peter pan collar and
bouffant skirt of alternate rows
of lace arid permanent pleating.
A matching sweetheart head-
dress held her shoulder length
veil and she carried red roses
end white mums.
Maid of honor was the groom's
taster, Misg F'atricia Skinner,
London, wearing a ballerina -
length dress of yellow and car -
trying yellow and bronze mums.
Frank Boyle, brother of the
bribe was groomsman and ush-
ers were Richard Boyle and Al-
lan Skinner.
A reception was held at Arm-
strong's Restaurant, Exeter
where the bride's mother wore
a brocaded brown sheath with
brawn accessories and bronze
and coral rose corsage. The
groom's mother chose black
Trench crepe with matching ac-
cessories and .corsage of white
and red roses,
For travelling the bride
changed to a black wool sheath,
red coat, black accessories and
corsage of white carnations.
Mr. and Mrs. Skinner will
make their hone in London.
Carey-Mollard

daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan-

church, on Saturday, November
14 at 11 a.m.
Baskets of bronze and yellow
mums adorned the altar for the
occasion and Paul. Dietrich, >don
don, provided the wedding mu-
sic,
Given in marriage by her
father the bride chose a floor -
length gown of brocaded satin
with jewelled V neckline and
fan -shaped train. A coronet of
rhinestones and pearls held her
veil of French illusion. She car-
ried a cascade of red roses and
white mums.
Miss F'atricia ,Carey, London,
as maid of honor wore a street -
length gown of coral lace over
taffeta with matching bow head-
dress and cascade of blue and
white .mums. Misses June Steep-
er and Marlene Eagleson of RR
8 Parkhill wore similarly styled
gowns in French blue lace with
matching accessories and car-
ried cascades of coral and white
mules.
Joseph Ilogan, London, was
groomsman and ushers were Art
Mollard and Larry Carey.
A reception was held at the
Colonial Hotel, Grand Bend
where the bride's mother re-
ceived in a green brocaded taf-
feta jacket dress with brown ac-
cessories and corsage of Talis-
man roses. The groom's mother
chose a blue silk dress with
white feather hat and pink rose
corsage,
For travelling the bride
changed to a royal blue cash-
mere dress, muskrat jacket and
corsage of Talisman roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Carey will make
their home in Exeter,
Ancient athletes were given to
anointing their bodies' with but-
ter in the belief that it gave
them added strength.

Roll call for the Nove,nher
meeting of Grand Bend Women's
institute was a sample of a
dozen cookieswith recipe for
same. These cookies were sold
and the proceeds are to be do-
nated to the War Memorial Hos-
pital, London,
A donation of $10 was voted 10
the Crippled Children's fund,
London, and an equal amount 10
the Children's Ain at Godericn
for Christmas cheer.
A demonstration on the mak-
ing of lampshades was given by
Mrs. Raymond Kading who also
commented an the motto "A job
well done is a job half done."
Mrs, Charles Reeves favored
with two piano selections.
The program was convened by
home economies convener, Mrs.
Raymond English and her carn-
mittcc, Mrs. Harold. Walper gave
a report of the area convention
held in London.
Hostesses were Mrs, Leslie
Adams, Mrs. Ella Desjardine,
Mrs. Charles Reeves and Mrs.
Herbert F'file,
Spanish woman
speaks to Caven
At the thankoffering meeting
of Caven WATS on Thursday eve-
ning Mrs. John Girot, who came
to Canada 20 months ago not
knowing how to speak or s'ritc
English, told of her church work
in Spain. Mrs. Girot has two
uncles presently doing mission-
ary work: one in Algeria and the
other among the Spaniards in
the south of France.
Rev, S, Kerr screened two
films of Jesus' life upon earth
that had been used in the last
communicants' class.
Mrs. S. G. Klatt sang two
solos. Each member brought a
guest to the meeting for which
Mrs. William Siliery presided.
Hostess was Mrs. Elizabeth
Herr assisted by Mrs. Harold
Simpson, Miss F. liatter and
Mrs, Norman Stanlake.
In. June of 1959 Canadian com-
panies paid out $81,133,999 in
dividends, up 3 per cent over
June, 1958.

We .thought the Grana Bend
Women's Institute had a novel
roll call at the meeting last
Thursday when eaeh member
answered to her name by pre-
senting a sample of a dozen or
so ,cookies with the recipe en-
closed. These were sold and the
proceeds given to the Children's
War Alemorial Hospital, London,
We contacted a few of the
members and they kindly gave
us some of the recipes. The
president, Mrs. W. 1•l. Love said
the one she received had gip-
peered in this column before so
submitted one for her own.
Oatmeal Coconut Cookies
?s cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1. cup sifted flour
1 cup fine oatmeal
1 cup fine coconut
i•z tp. baking powder.
14 tp. soda
14 tp. salt
Mix and drop by teaspoonfuls
on greased cookie sheet, Bake
in 350 degree oven for 10 to 15
minutes. Makes 3 to 4 dozen
cookies.
Mrs. John Lovie contributed" a
recipe for ice box cookies.
Ice Box Cookies
1 cup butter or margene
creamed
2 cups brown sugar
2 unbeaten eggs
1 cup dates cut fine
1 cup nuts chopped fine
1 tp. vanilla
3 cups flour .
1 tp. soda
1 tp. cream tartar
Cream butler and sugar, add
unbeaten eggs and Mix thor-
oughly. Sift dry ingredients, add
nuts and- dates and vanilla.
Knead in a roll and leave over-
night to chill. These are im-
proved if allowed to freeze.

a recipe for peanut butter cook-
ies.
Peanut Butter Cookies
1 cup peanut butter
to cup butter
ia cup shortening or all short-
ening
2 well .beaten eggs
1 small to soda
tp. salt
1 cup white sugar
3 cups flour
Mix and form in roll or rolls
or drop by teaspoonsful and flat-
ten with fcrk. Bake in 325 de-
gree Oven. Airs. Pfile sometimes
likes to add chopped nuts to' this
recipe.
