at Clandebqye School on Frida
night. Winners for costume

Bingo and euchre were played
Euchre winners were: ladies
high, Mrs. Murray Hodgson

and lone hands, Mr, Ed Arm
strong. A candy sale was held
Bob Donaldson of the Clande-
boye school competed in a pub-
lic speaking contest at Lucan
F'ublic School on Tuesday eve-
ning.
St. James WA 8 Guild
Mrs, Andy Carter, president
of the WA entertained the la-
dies of St. James Church on
Thursday and presided for the
meeting. The rector, the Rev. J.
P. Prest assisted with prayers
also Mrs. Ed. Flynn. Scripture
was read by Mrs. Ernie Lewis.
The members received their
1960 church c-alendars.
At the November meeting, re-
ports are to be given and elec-
tion of officers will be held for
next year.
Mrs. Ernie Lewis, president,
presided for the Guild meeting.
Final plans were made for the
bazaar to be held in the Sunday
School room on Saturday, Nov-
ember 7 at 2:30 p.m. Many ar-
ticles of sewing, aprons, pillow
slips ad towels were handed
in,

accident last July.

Mrs. S. Hodgins
dies in London
Funeral services were con-
dutted on Wednesday afternoon,
Nov. 4 at the Murdy funeral
home in Lucan for Mrs. Sidney
G, Hodgins in her 85th year,
with the rector, the Rev. J. P.
Prest, officiating.
Mrs. .Hodgins died in St. Marys
Hospital, London, Sunday, Nov.
1. where she had been a patient
for over three years.
She was born in Clinton on
September 2, 1875, the daughter
of the late John Wigginton and
(Mary McGregor) Wigginton.
• In 1897 she married Sidney
• G. Hodgins. They resided on
lot 29, concession 1, McGillivray.
Mr. Hodgins died in 1945.
She was a member of St.
James Church, WA and Guild,
also a member of Clandeboye
WI.
She is survived by two sons,
Rae and Clinton Hodgins of RR!
1 Clandeboye and two grand -i
children, Elaine and Robert
Hodgins.
Interment was in the family
plot at St. James cemetery,
Clandeboye.
Pallbearers were Bill Smibert,
Leon (Sandy) McNaughton, Har-
vey Owens, David Henry, Dave
Pinkney and Arthur Hodgins.

at Brussels
Women Institute members at-
tended a county rally in Brus-
sels on Monday in morning and
afternoon sessions.
Mrs, Wilfred 'Mack, Credi-
ton, told of the ACWW confer.
ence which she attended in Edin-
burgh this summer and showed
pictures of her trip.
Mr, and Mrs. Harvey John-
ston of the County Home were
present and asked for co-opera-
tion in entertaining and helping
with crafts for the Home resi-
dents.
Displays of copper tooling,
aluminum etching, millinery
made in courses for the Insti-
tute members were shown and
Miss Bette Tillman, home eco-
nomist for Huron, told of the
new project of the 4-11 Home-
making girls "Clothes Closets
Up -To -Date."
Invitation to meet for the
rally in Auburn next year was

Funeral services were con-
ducted on Monday afternoon,
Nov. 2 at the Ardaven (A. Mil-
lard George) funeral home, Lon-
don, for Wesley Hennessey of
85 Oxford St., London, in his
67th year, veith the Rev. Charles
Langford of St. George's, Angli-
can church, London, officiating.
He was born in Lucan, May
18, 1892, son of the late Thomae
and Margaret (McFalls) Hen-
nessey.
They moved to Clandeboye in
1908 where they occupied and
operated the Victoria House in
the village. Later he moved to
London and for several years
Was a salesman in • Grafton's
Men's Wear.
He suffered a coronary throm-
bosis attack, was hospitalized
for about a week and died in St.
Joseph's Hospital on Friday,
October 30.
He is survived by one son,
Richard, and one sister, Mrs,
Edwin (Louisa) Simpson, Lon-
don, andthree nephews, Harold,
Grant And Bill Simpson; also a
niece, .Mrs. Bud (Jean) German,
London.
Pallbearers were the three
nephews and Bud German, Cecil
McFalls, all of London and Rob-
ert Murray of Lucan. Interment
look plate in St. James ceree-
tery, Clandeboye.
Three months ago, on July 24,
a. sister, Clara Hennessey, Lon-
don, in her 65th year, died from
the 8ame cause and was buried
in St. James cemetery here.
