Frank B. 'Dixon, chairman of
the board of directors, launched
the enterprise in 1917 with the
purchase of a half -ton truck for
$640.
Two one -ton vehicles were add-
ed in 1919 and the firm acquired
its first authentic furniture van
in 1920. Today is has a large fleet
of trailer vans, packing trucks
and pickups.
The Dixon firm handles over
60,000 pounds of furnishings—or
about 10 households—every day
of the year, The service includes
emptying the house, packing
and transporting the goods, un-
loading and setting the furniture
in place in the new location,
One of the number of examples
of efficient service provided by
Dixon's was the move for a
family from this area to Van -4
couver recently. When .the family
departed, they left the home as
they had lived in it and simply
threw Dixon's the key: Five
days later, when the :family, ar-
rived in Vancouver, they found
their new home ready for im-
mediate occupation. The furni-
ture, dishes, drapes and paint-
ings were set in their places al-
most exactly as they had left
them in their old house.

The 1959 Fall. Square Dancing,
Season was officially opened at
the JAD McCurdy auditorium on {
September 26, when the adulll
class of RCAF Centralia num-
bering twenty-four started going
through their paces. On Satur-
day, October 3 a turnout of 42
adults attended the second night
whichaugurs well for the future
of square dancing at RCAF Sta-
tion Centralia.
On Saturday, October 3 at 7
p.m. eighty student dancers of
Grades 6, 7 and 8 of the JAD
McCurdy school inaugurated
their new season with classes
held semi-monthly. The next eve-
ning for the Grades 6, 7 and 8
will be at 7 .p.m. October 17.
Classes for the Grades 4 and 5
will commence at 7 p.m. Octo-
ber 24 and this will be a month-
ly event.
The third night for the adult
classes will be on October 17 at
