Rally Day was observed in the
United Church Sunday morning
with the Sunday School scholars
and their teachers occupying the
seats in the church auditorium.
The theme of the service in
charge a Mr. Clem Christie,
Sunday School superintendent,
centred around "Children sing
around the world,"
Scripture passages were read
by Gregory Spencer and stories
were told by Sharon Skidmore

Zone Recreational Council Ban-
tam Baseball Championship Tro-
phy which was held at, Listowel,
eliminating Exeter in the final,
game with a score of 7-0. Teams!

Mr. Basil Edwards, a Hensall
resident for 14 years, died in
Clinton Public Hospital on Sat-
urday, September 19 where he
had been a •patient since Mon -
i day of the same week with a
-heart condition.
ln his 82nd year he was born
on the Edwards' homestead in
Hay Township, son of the late
Mr, and Mrs. Miller Edwards.
He farmed there successfully re-
tiring to Hensall in 1945.
He was a member of Carmel
P'resbylerian Church.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Emily Morrison,
Public funeral services were
held Monday, September 21 from
the Bonthron funeral chapel,
conducted by his minister, Mr.
G. C. Vais. Interment was in
Hensall Union cemetery.
Pallbearers were W. 0. Good-
win, George Armstrong, W. R.
Hensall also won the pee wee
softball tournament trophy by
default, other eams not showing
up.
The girl's softball team was
eliminated in the finals by Port
Recreation Dougall, Harold Elder and AI -

Over sixty teen agers attended
the Teen Town opening dance
Friday last which was very gra-
tifying. Dances will be held
every Friday night from 8:30 to
12 and a drive for more members
is being organized.

ly by this Saturday from those in-
terested in joining a figure skat-
ing club,
would appreciate more inter-
est shown regarding hockey from
Hensall and district so time al-
lotment and schedules can be
drawn up.

Accident
A minor accident occurred on
King St. Hensall on Tuesday al.
ternoon when two cars driven by
Mr. Trevor Wilson and Michael
Barry of Dubin collided.
Mr. Wilson was travelling West
and the Barry car pulled out
from the north curb to go West
when they collided. Constable E.
R. Davis estimated the damage
at $100.

September 19, 20 neighbors and
friends met at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs, Percy
Webster on Thursday evening to
honor her with, a miscellaneous
presentation of gifts. Miss Mar-
garet Brintnell of Exeter read
the address and Miss Marlene
Jaques presented the gifts and
assisted in unwrapping them.
The bride's chair was decorat-
ed in pink and white over which
hung ribbons and balloons. The
house was also decorated in
pink and. white motif. Contests
and games were enjoyed. The
event was arranged by Mrs.
Ken Wildfong and Miss Margaret
Brintnell of Exeter.

ess at her home Tuesday eve-
ning for the September meeting
of the Hensall Kinettes . with
1001. attendace, and chaired by
the President , Mrs. William
Mickle.
Discussions were held and
plans made for activities of the
coming year. Plans were final-
ized for the Fall rummage sale
to be held at the Town Hall Sat-
urday, October 24.
Joint installation with the
Kinsmen will be held October
8 when Tom Mayberry, Deputy
Governor of Woodstock, will be
present to instal the officers.
