Recreation
Activities
By J. R. "SCOTTY" HUME
Everything seems to be quiet
around the arena these days now
since schoolhas started. But it
won't he long tillthe activities
around the arena is buzzing
againwith skates,
Congratulations to the Old Ti-
mers who played an exhibition
game Monday afternoon at the
park before a splended turnout of
spectators. They lost the game
hut not without a struggle to the
tune of 13-9 — not too bad a
score. But never underestimate
these old timers as they may be
called. They still have got a Jot
of pep and ambition even to play
in 85 degree heat such as it was
on Monday. Winners were the
Hensall Juveniles and Bantams.
Well to get back to the other
news I would like all the boys
and girls who are going to take
part in the baseball and softball
tournament at Listowel and At:-
wood
t:wood on Sept. 19 to please be at
the arena this Saturday morning
at 10 o'clock. Do not forget; it's
important now to the fall activi-
ties which are about to start.
I would like all the young teen-
agers from 13 to 20 who would
like to organize a Teen Town
here in Hensall to attend a get-
together meeting on Friday night
this week Sept. 11. at 7:30 p.m.
at the arena.
Not to forget the younger peo-
ple of the age of 50 andover
who would be interested in hav-
ing a Senior Citizens Club and
hear about the activities they
would enjoy, a meeting for them
is called for Thursday night,
Sept. 10 at 7:30 p,m, at the
arena.
Anyone who has a 3 -way rec-
ordplayer they would like to sell
and some records, kindly call
247-W for the use at the arena.
