Leaving Bewail on Monday of
last week they travelled through
Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota,
then north into Saskatchewan as
far as Regina, then west to
Swift Current. On the way home
they travelled by Winnipeg and.
then cut south. in. Minnesota.
The most fascinating thing on'
the trip and very impressive Bill
said was the 100 million dollar.
Mackinaw bridge. The west was
altogether different then he
thought it would be as it was all
hills except .for about. 20 miles of
'flat land around Regina, They
had poor crop of wheat about 6"
high in most places.
Beans
One local mill 'owner stated
' today that beans coming so far,
are of excellent quality and run-
ning a good average yield, and
prospects are good for an excel-
lent crop if weather continues
favourable.

Gordon Lavery of Zurich was
his brother's groomsman.
Later a reception was held at.
the Commercial Hotel, Hensall
for fifty guests. The bride's mo-
ther received in a dress oiRoyal
blue crystal charm with white
accessories and white mum cor-
sage. The groom's mother chose
brown and gold metallic with
beige accessories and bronze
mum corsage.
Following the reception the
bride and groom left for points
east, the bride wearing a tur-
quoise linen suit, white feather
hat and brown. accessories, and
wearing a corsage of white
Funeral services for the .late
Mrs. Frederick J. Appleby, 76,
of Simeoe, was held from the
Baldock funeral home Monday,
August 31, with interment in Till-
sonburg cemetery,
Mrs. Appleby, a former well
known resident of Hensall, is
survived .by her husband, two
sons, Walter F., R,R. 4 Ingersoll;
G. Ernest, Delhi, and one daugh-
ter, Mrs, J, Montenay, Dorches-
ter.

Since last week's edition the
town of Hensall should he very
proud of some of its children who
braved a sweltering day of 90 in
the heat last Wednesday to go to
Exeter and take part against
St. Marys, Exeter and Gode.rdch

Recreation for the district and
emerge victorious with the win•,

to take the children. to Exeter
last Wednesday, I would like all
the boys and girls who would
like to participate in a baseball
and softball tournament on Sep-
tember 19 at Listowel, kindly
get in touch with me as soon as
possible so 1 wilt know how many
teams to enter, Each one parti-
cipating gets a crest as well as
a crest for the finalist andthe
champions and the winning team
a trophy.
Now the minor baseball is
over, I would like to say con-
gratulations to the Bantams for
the splendid way they came up
the ladder only to be eliminated.

boys, youdid one thing that I'm
proud of: you weren't defeated
all the way, Youdid manage to
get the WOBA trophy. Cheer up
lads the hockey season isn't too
far away.

suddenly early Friday morning
at his home following a heart'
seizure. He. was treasurer of
Tuckersmith for 30 years.
Mr. Chesney was accountant at
the Hensall sales and had been,
working on his books until 10
p.m. following the Thursday's
sale: I
Surviving are his wife and.
four sisters.
The funeral was held Sundal.
with Dr. J. Semple of Egmond-'
ville officiating. Interment was
in Maitland cemetery.
