The book, entitled "Homespun Poems of Inspiration and De- light", contains 31 poems, most of them religious. They were written by R. Frank Johns, To- ronto, and Mrs. Amy E. Street, Norland, children of the late Wellington Johns, a former tail- or here. Publisher Frank Johns, owner of Vanguard Printing Limited, Toronto, said revenue from the books would be contributed to missions in India, Africa and other foreign countries where the need is great. On Tuesday and Wednesday the younger groups painted and made posters concerning their tome of the week while older groups practised for the track and field meet in Goderich on Wednesday, Twenty enthusiastic participants took part in the events. On Thursday .mornieg all the playgrounds joined together for a Bicycle Rodeo. The winners were Ricky McDonald and Don- nie Wolfe. In the afternoon all the older boys ventured to Devil's Elbow on a hike supervised by Bernice Strang and Dale Tur- vey. Friday morning was spent decorating the ehildren's ve- hicles for the afternoon parade, About 75 children paraded to Tuckey Beverages for a free bottle of pop. Each child has ex- pressed a special thank -you to Tuckey Beverages. After returning to the play- ground Mrs. 1-1. Laing chose the winners from the parade. First prize went to Beth and Susan Goman; second prize to Barbara Skinner and third to Joe Darling, The rest of the aft- ernoon was spent with a candy scramble and a sing song, The.
