Bruce Bossenberry. 76, a well-
known resident of Grand Bend.
died suddenly Thursday morn-
ing, July 30, while doing some
shopping in the village.
At the time. of his death Mr.
Besse!) berry was manager of the
Alston Theatre, hut. he was more
widely known as the former pro-
prietor of the imperial Hotel.
He was born in Hay Township
and moved to Grand Bend with
his sweets in 1890. His father
pnrchased the old Woodbine Bo-
jel 1895 and in 1905 the main
part of the present. building was
erected.
As a young man, Bruce ope-
rated a hotel at Brucefield and
at the time was the youngest
man to hold a license, lie has
also operated hotels in Lunn
and Forest.
Mr. Bossenberry was the insti-
gator of the Blue Water Associa-
,tion and was its first president.
Surviving besides his wife, the
former Myrtle Tayior, who is at
present a patient in the South
Huron Hospital, are five daugh-
ters, Mrs. Charles Acheson, Exe-
ter; Mrs. Bruce Medd, Napanee;
Mrs, Frank Simpkins, Stratford•
Mrs. Peter Garvin, Adian, Mich.;
three sons, William, London: Har-
ry, Grand Bend; Alvin, Florida.'
also one sister, Mrs. Alma Willis,
Toronto.
The body rested at the T. Har-
ry Hoffman funeral home, Dash.:

when the funeral service 'was
held from St. Johns-by-the-Lake1
Anglican Church, Grand Bend,
with interment in the Grand
Bend cemetery.
