Church members met in the schoolroom of the church' on Friday for a social evening in honor of Rev. J. T. and Mrs. Clarke, Allison and. Odeyne pre- vious to their departure from Centralia. Mr. Lloyd Morgan presided Thr a program,which included a piano duet by Margaret Heist and Karen Finkbeiner; t w o. songs by members of the CGIT; readings by Bette Lou West and Elaine Powe; vocal duet, Jean and Joan Essery; piano solo, Sha- ron .4glitfopt• A hat trimming and modelling contest with Messrs. Saim Skin- ner, Bob Blair, John McAllister and Orville. Langford as the par- ticipants afforded much laugh- ter. After considerable thought the judges pronounced Orville the winner of the contest. The Clarkes were invited to the platform while an address was read by Mr. Earl Heist and Mr. Wil Essery- presented Mr. and Mrs. Clarke with a sum of money. Allison and Odeyne were presented with a gift each by Miss Flossie Davey and Mrs. F. Bowden. Mr. Clarke expressed appreciation for the gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Reed and son of Kitchener spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. James Hay- ter and family, Mary Anne and Jimmie Hayter returned home with them for a weeks vacation, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Becker and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Bec- ker spent Sunday at Kitchener with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ten Eyck and other relatives, Maurice Neil bank official Maurice Neil, who began his career with the Molson's Bank in Exeter, under T. S. Woods, has just been appointed man- ager of a new branch of the Bank of Dearborn in that city. This is the third office managed by Maurice while with the Bank of Dearborn. Maurice began. bis banking career in Exeter in 1922 and the following year he went to Detroit, where he became a dis- count clerk for the Detroit Bank. According to the Dearborn In- dependent, Neil Was honored by attaining managership of the De- troit Bank at the age of 25. He was . the youngest. bank manager in Detroit at that time. In 1934 he left banking to further his managerial exper- ience with the C. F. Smith Company. He also worked with the Goderich Lumber Co. Fol- lowing this, he served as the assistant paymaster for 13 years with Packard Motor Company, Maurice joined the Bank ,of Dearborn staff in 1955 as head teller, and was appointed as- sistant cashier in January of 1957. The Neils have two children in the banking profession. Mau- rice is a member of the Kiwanis Club and Hope Chapel of the E,U,B. Church in Dearborn. Mr .and Mrs. Neil, their son, Maurice Jr., wife and daughter, visited Sunday with the former's brother, Murray.
