Dear Friends:
We left London June 25 at 8:15
a.m. and Toronto that same af-
ternoon at 4;30 p.m. The CPR

p.m., we were in Edmonton.
Scott Shade met us at the
train, and with Kay, his wife
gave us a royal weekend. We al -
tended the Baptist Church on
$u.nday and met. Mrs. Lulu Mc-
Leod, formerly Lulu Thompson,
of Cromarty.
Monday morning we shopped
In. Edmonton at. the Hudson's
Bay Store, Woodward's and
other very large stores. Edmon-
ton has grown to a population of
over 280,000.
Monday afternoon we boarded
a plan, the first time either
Mary or I had ever been ate -
borne. We were to fly 1,500
miles before reaching Old Crow.
The first stop was at Grande
Prairie, around which the love-
ly farms appear as a large
patchwork quilt from the air-
craft. Then on to Fort St. John
where there was a 21/2 hour wait
for the plane from Vancouver.
Late that night we set down at
Whitehorse. At last we were in
the Yukon!
Here we met Walter Creery
Isom Kirkton and. front Iluron
College with the air force base
at Whitehorse for the summer.
We stayed at Christ Church
Cathedral. rectory. The Cathe-
dral is known as The Old Log
Church.' The rector is :Rev. A.
L. Privett who with his wile
looked after us and saw as safe-
ly aboard the plane to Dawson
City.
We were met at the Dawson
airport by George and the Rev.
Allen. Haldshby, rector of St.
Paul's Dawson. We had lunch

boarded a one -engine Beaver
Aircraft on floats.
There were four passengers,
