Paint is dry, create .a pattern in
a contrasting :color. Stippled ef-
fects are attractive and .easy .to
achieve. Just :dip a piece of ;or-
dinary household sponge in .a
shallow pan of paint and dab on
the floor. White on black, for
example, gives a marble -hike
look to the floor.
A. spatter finish is effective,
but: a little more care is re-
quired. The spatters are made
by striking a paint -filled brush
against a stick held in the other
hand, Size of the spatters varies
according too the amount of paint
in the brush and the distance be-
tween brush and floor,
For a gay effect use several
colors but take earefulaim to
avoid spattered walls, too! Fin-
ally, a coat or two of varnish
will protect the new floor sur-
face.
