Plans were finalized for the
annual birthday party to be held

Elder. A dutch auction was held
and the cake donated by Mrs.

The death occurred suddenly
At the Queensway •General. Hos-
pital,' Toronto, Monday, March
30 of Melville P. Giles, late of
Drayton, Ont. and formerly of
New Toronto.
He was past master of Con-
naught Lodge AF and 'AM No.
501, and past patron of Rock-
wood Chapter, OES, No, 22.5.
Survivng are his widow, the
fernier Luella Patterson,_ three
daughters, Rhea (Mrs. A. Ma-
honey), Islington; Betty, New
Toronto; Patricia, .Leaside; one
sister, Mrs. George Thompson,
Hensall; two brothers, Fred Har-
riston, and Ernie, Rothsay.
Funeral services were held
from the Arthur. B. Ridley fu-
neral home. New Toronto, Thurs-
day, April 2 with cremation at
Toronto crematorium, A Masonic
Service was held in the chapel
Wednesday evening.

on anniversary
An enjoyable evening fwas spent
at the hone of Mr, and Mrs,
Ccdll. Kipfer on Thursday when
they were host and hostess to •a
number of friends of. -Mrs, i ip-
fir's parents, Mr, and Mrs,
Thomas Jolly of Exeter, who
were celebrating their fortieth
Wedding anniversary.
There were 28 in attendance,
Crok:inolc was played.
Mr. and Mrs. Jolly received
Several miscellaneous gifts.
Their family include Mrs, Cecil
.hipfer, Hensall, Harold, Toronto,
Norman of Sudbury and Donald
of Exeter.
Arrangements are, being made
to have a family;dinner at the

Exeter on Saturday. The .fatuity
presented them with a cheerer•

cloths, quills and knitted gar-
ments etc. on. _display. ,

of Hensall Public School and'
judged by the recreation commit-'
tee.

by Mr. Martin, who was grate-
ful for this expression of ap-
preciation and the many kind
remarks made. As a minister
he had tried to be a good pastor
and to teach the Bible, and hoped
he had been. able to help some
one. He prayed that all might
meet again at the great banquet
above.
