Poise is the sign of a. real pre- feasional. It takes more than aa, lent alone to make a star. Anyone MIR has ever seen Juliette goof on her program ean see that she is a real showman, She always lets the audience in an ber Huff. "It's so melt better than trying to cover up a mis- take, she says. "The audience isn't stapid, people know when I've made a mistake. I think they'd rather see me admit it than think I'm trying to get away with something." Juliette is well settled into her new apartment now and loves it. "It's in shades of gold and white and avocado," she tells me. Patti Lewis's record of 'Ma, ile's making Eyes at Me' is get- ting a good play by disc jockeys and Patti has done the number on a few TV shows. Her man- ager, John MeCadden, owns the master record and held it back until be received a good offer for a release. Now it's out here, in, the States and in England. They're counting on this disc to push Patti back up to the top, to help her regain the prominent position she had in England, The other side is a song called 'Please Don't Go' and was writ- ten by Toronto's Lou Snider. I haven't heard it yet. Vanda King goes to Hollywood this summer to appear in a mo- vie. The script is being prepared now, She will soon film a big part in a rock and roll movie too. I asked Joyce Sullivan bow her album of folk song recorded with Charles Jordan sold. "Pretty well, considering It was a calla - than record, says Joyce. "And YOU Can say that I'd love to do another such album f some one asks me." The York community Theatre in Toronto is a breathing sample of what perseverance and deter, inination can and Many familiar personalities belting to the non. profit (uninteptionally of course) theatre, They play large or small parts, paint sets, make costumes and so far have been able to pay the rent on !their tiny theatre, I've watched the group in action and I'm sure you would enjoy seeing One of their plays next time you're In Toronto. Wit prob- ably will recognize some of the faces either on stage or usher- ing. The theatre is on LaPlante Ave. in downtown Toronto and seats are very inexpenaive. Recently this theatre produced Saint Joan and it was acclaimed by audiences. Ludmila Tchor, who has danced on most of our TV shows, had the lead, Lud- mila is a 23 -year-old Hungarian who speaks five languages, was with the Volkoff ballet, and now has high hopes of an acting ca- reer, Since the CBC regularly 'scouts' these productions you'll probably see her on TV before long. Remember the name Lud- mila Tchor — she's worth watch- ing. Thanks to the Women's Aux- iliary of the Exeter Legion for being such a warmly receptive audience recently.
