For :Colt By ELIZABETH TOUCHETTE Barbara Franklin has been one of the busiest people in Canadian ;how business with a full schedule for over a year (except for two weeks off with pneumonia last spring). Now back from New York and a good run of the revue "Salad Days" in which she stars, Barb is already in rehearsal for this year's "Spring Thaw," and for the TV version of "Salad Days," which will he produced In mid-March on "Folio." Much to my own amazement. I've become an interested watcher of "AR Star Golf." and so I wasn't surprised to read that it has hit the top, rating -wise. in both the U.S. and Canada. Now golfer Jerry Magee says that the pros may boycott the program. The reason? No residuals. (Residuals are the rates pair) to performers for re -runs of their original telecasts and it's from these payments that programs like "I Love Lucy," "Our Miss Brooks," and countless others make their really big profits.) However, no one expected "All Star Golf" to go over as well as it did, and the pros signed for flat rates. Now therograms are being re -run and the golfers want their shares of the new round of profits. "No dice," say the producers. "No more golf then," say the pros. In the meantime, other TV production c o in panics are ' an?dous to climb on the golf happy bandwagon. It is rumored that Desi Arnaz is considering the possibility of filming golf matches with tournament players r III Intl llll,II„1111.1.111,„11I,II 1111111111'1111111111111111, Garage Sunday And Evening Service Open this Sunday, Wednes- day afternoon and during the evening throughout the week. Other ideas are being experimented with, so even if "A11 Star Golf" • fades away. it seems more than likely that it will be replaced by another golfing series; or two, or three or more, if it goes the way of the popular westerns. • Marga Lebevre, the petit e - Montreal singer who has been appearing with Billy• O'Connor's show fairly regularly, has quite a time with the English language and she really comes up with some fahuktus translations. She•s very well liked by all the crew and does a fine job in spite of the teasing she encounters. Margo's hair is not grey, by the way. It's jet Mack, but she.
