Service on Wednesday evening was held in Grand Bend United Church and will be held in Dash- wood k,vangeliaat United Breth- •rcn Church on Thursday night. The speakers will be Rev. W. 1�. Kroft and Rev'. A. E. Holley respectively. A watchnight Brayer service was held in the United Church led by Rev. A. Holley, after which a social hour was spent in the basement, 4-H Girls The 4-11 girls held their De- cember meeting; at the home of Mrs. Edward GUI. The program consisted of four demonstrations. Marcia Desjardine demonstrated Mr, and Mrs. Reginald Chilton making corn bread; .Anna Hend- of London spent Christmas with rick, gingerbread; Alona Des- Mrs. Chilton's parents, Mr. and Jardine, baked cereal crumb pie, Mrs, R. Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Zimmer and fancily spent Christmas week with friends in Toronto, The ,Grand Bend Scout Troop started the New 'Year with a Luke and initiative test on Fri- day. The Scoutmaster, Cpl. L. Peate. and eight scouts attend- ed. Activities practised included observation test s, signalling, compass work, first aid, fire - lighting and cooking under win- ter conditions, also pioneering work, A great deal of initiative was shown in the cooking, ancj seve- ral new variations of "meat and vegetable" dishes came to light. No casualties, however, have been reported. Scouts are reminded that the meeting .for this week will be held at 7,00 p.m. on Friday. The following meeting will be the troop's first anniversary party, to be held on Wendesday, Jan, 16. There is still room Afor a few boys, 113 years of age, or over. Meetings are held in St. John's parish hall at 7.00 pan. each Wednesday.
