Brussels and Wingham were among the lucky winners in the Snowflake Draw, sponsored by six Blvth businesses during January. Jean Nethery of RR 4, Brussels won the top prize of a dinner for two at Robindale’s in Goderich worth $50. Jane Pollard and Steven Sparling spent the weekend with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hoonaard left on Tuesday for a visit to Holland and Spain. Mrs. Rick Nay and daughter Sarah of Goose Bay, Labrador and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nay of Gorrie were Sunday guests of Mrs. Peggy Cudmore. Visitors with Sheila Richards over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. James McKinney and Yvonne from Burlington. All were in town for Chris Procter’s bon voyage party. Cold stormy weather limited attendance to only three tables at the Monday night euchre party Jan. 27 at Memorial Hall. High lady for the evening was Ella Richmond. High man was Ted East. Low scores were recorded by Marjorie East and Millar Richmond. Mildred McNall had the most lone hands for the ladies and Louis Phelan for the men. A special prize was won by Alex Nethery. At Lost Heir on Wednesday night, attendances were considerably better with eight tables in play. Edythe Snell was high lady and Ruth Sheill was low lady. Bert Daer and Alvin Snell were high and low men. Scouts go to Jamboree February 7, 8, 9, 1986willsee seven hundred scouts, guides and leaders compete in the Provincial Cross-Country Ski Jamboree at Base Borden near Barrie. Scouts from Biyth will be among those taking part. Skiers must choose to enter the 5 km, 10 km or 20 km race which begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Each race is divided into heats according to age groups; under 13, 14 to 15 year olds and 16 and over.
