Robin and Mrs. Lyons were presented with a silver tray, photo, chocolates and other mementos. Jonathan was given a lovely plaque. The conregation wished them happiness in their new charge at Tillsonburg and Culloden. Guest speaks at Blyth United Bill and Cheryl Tomlinson and son Steve of Bayfield were invited visitors at the Blyth United Church service last Sunday. The Tomlinson’s are very active members of Middleton Anglican church near Clinton. Cheryl is hostess at the down-town Bayfield Little Inn and is a lady of many talents. Mrs. Tomlinson demonstrated God-given story-telling talent in her story to the children during which with each other’s help through question and answer, they lightened a heavy suitcase before she set out to spread the “Good News’’ in afar away place. They realized that church trappings are not absolutely essential for her goal. One thing they did not throw out was the Bible. She sang about God’s love accompanying herself on guitar. From the pulpit, later, Mrs. Tomlinson gave a heart warming message of the transformation in her life that brought about a complete turn-around of purpose and the realization that faith without action is dead. Others taking part in this service were: Readers: Dr. Lavern Clark and Rev. Bauman; Choir: Anthem - “O Magnify the Lord with Me’’; Junior Congregation, Fay Bolger; Hymn Sing leaders, Cheryl Cron in, Margaret Kai. Diane Wasson; Ushers and Greeters, Harvey and Deanna Snell, John and Rita Blake and Evalena Webster.
