Brussels Juniors lose close game to Mitchell
BY LOIS McARTER
The Brussels Bulls Junior "D"
hockey club played only one game
this past weekend. They were in
Mitchell on Friday night against
the Hawks. It was a very close
hockey game. The first period of
hockey was a scoreless tie.
The second period ended at 1-1
tie after a rugged 20 minutes of
play. Tim Fritz assisted by Tom
Newbigging and Murray Dewar
put the only Brussels goal on the
board.

of the game, although Blyth did
manage a powerplay goal to take a
3 - 1 lead.
Mike Bromley completed his hat
trick with wingers Jerrod Button
and Henry Bos collecting assists
with some fine passing in the
Clinton zone. A couple of fans
could be seen taking their hats off
their heads but, once again, none
hit the ice. Mike is still waiting and

Although outplayed for most of
the game, Blyth held a 3 - 1 lead
until late in the game when Clinton
scored two goals in 37 seconds and
the game ended in a 3 - 3 tie.. The
long layoff showed as the novices
were a step behind Clinton all night
and only some fantastic saves from
goalie Josh Yanchus kept the game
close.

a movie.
Sylvester Stallone, having re-
cently conquered the box office as a
ex-Vietnam soldier and a boxer,
this time turns to armwrestling for
his latest movie. He'll play the part
of a truck driver whose girl needs
an operation desperately and he
turns to armwrestling to win prize
money to pay for the operation.
Sylvester, of course, would
hardly need the money in real life.
Rumour says he'll earn $25 million
for doing the picture. The winners
of the armwrestling contest won't
do badly either. Winners of the
Canadian competition will go
against winners from six other
competitions around the world,
from the U.S. to Tokyo and
England with the winner getting
$100,000 plus the chance at fame
and fortune in the movie.
For, Paul Engel, his rise has been
quick. He's been practising the
sport for two years but for the past
eight months has been taking it up
more seriously, travelling to
events as far away as Sault Ste.
Marie. He's actually beaten Paul
Cecchini before but wasn't able to
do it in this big event.
Paul Gross won several trophies
in 1985 competitions.
