Ushers were Shannon Duizer, Melanie Knox, Kim Salverda and Joanne Wilts. Rev. Snihur welcomed all and gave announcements and present- ed Tim Lyons with a Bible on graduation from Junior Congrega- tion. Children's time featured a song "Away in a Manger" and a story about "Billy the Grump". Junior teachers were Florence Cartwright and Brent Radford. The sermon was "To kill the Christ". At the January 5 service greet- ing were Rev. Snihur and Darlene McClinchey. Ushers were Russell Nesbitt, Michael Radford, David Whyte and Jeff Vincent. Rev. Snihur welcomed all and gave the call to worship and announce- ments. Bible Study, youth groups and choir practice are all back to normal following the holidays. Londesboro euchre players win There were five tables in play at the W.I. Card Party on January 3. Winners were: ladies high, Alma Gordon; lone hands, Hazel Watkins; low, Edythe Beacom; men's high, Glen Carter; lone hands, Bert Daer; low, Lorne Hunking. In charge was Beth Knox assisted by Alice Buchanan and Marg Anderson. Next card party will be in two weeks, January 17. The W.I. Canadian Industries meeting will be January 8 at 2 p.m. Please note change of time. The flowers were placed by Fothergills in loving memory of June's mother, Mrs. Colonel Marks who was buried on Jan. 2. Children's time featured the song "I've got the Joy" and the story, "We are to carry on God's work". Junior teachers were Barbara and Theresa Knox. Anthem was a duet by Lisa Bosman and her mother Barbara. The sermon was "My Prayer for 1986." God has a plan and told of Florence Nightingale of her care and love for the sick. Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fothergill on the death of her mother Mrs. Colonel Marks of Listowel in Listowel hospital on Dec. 30 at the age of 78. Rev. Dave, Caron and Gray Snihur spent Sunday, Dec. 29 to Wednesday, Jan. 1 in Ottawa when Dave officiated at the wedding of his sister Nancy to James Kalwar- owski at their home on Dec. 30. Dora Shobbrook and Maimie Crawford, Blyth were guests on Saturday, Jan. 4 when family of sister-in-law Vera Gibbings cele- brated her 80th birthday January 6 to a family dinner in Clinton town hall seniors rooms with 35 present. Donna Gillispie of Calgary spent two weeks with her mother Isabel Scanlon and Ken Scanlon of Perth spent one week with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Smith of Coburg spent Boxing Day with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns. Mrs. Mary Longman returned home on Saturday, Dec. 28 from spending a week with her sister Mr. and Mrs. Bob Norris, Staffa. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Crysler of Chatham spent Christmas holi- days with her brother Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tamblyn. Mrs. Mae Hutton of Wingham spent Sunday to Wednesday at with her brother Mr. and Mrs. Clare Vincent. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dahmer, Kerrie, Melissa and T.J. of Coburg visited on New Year's Day with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pitkin, David and Christopher of Toronto visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns on Sunday, Dec. 29. Cathy Vello of Toronto spent Christmas with her mother Mr. and Mrs. Ken Vodden. Staff sergeant Richard and Jean Shaddick, Sandra, David, Lynn and Nancy of Ottawa spent last week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shaddick.
