Callander news
Party for Bessie McCutcheon
Saturday, December 28 a birth-
day party was held in the craft room
of the Callander Nursing Home to
honour Mrs. Bessie McCutcheon
on her 85th birthday. Mrs. Marie
McCutcheon, Mrs. Kathy Work-
man and Mrs. Helen Wheeler with
their Aunt Bessie entertained
many relatives and friends.
Ivy Kelly was transferred to
Wingham Hospital on Sunday.
Everyone enjoyed the plum
puddings at Sunday dinner
brought in by Isabel Pearson and
Jean Evans. Monday Eva Stew-
art's family visited her on her
birthday.
Jack Hamilton was transferred
to Wingham Hospital. We all wish
Jack a speedy recovery. Tuesday,
Ivy Kelly returned home from the
hospital and is recuperating well.
A New Year's Eve Party was
held New Year's Eve with Violet
Heibein, Mary Stretton and Dawn
White hosting.
New Year's Day Stella Winn
visited at her daughter's home Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Hayward and Pearl
Stevenson spent New Year's with
her family at Mr. and Mrs. Glen
Nichol. Donald Dunbar entertain-
ed at the piano in the afternoon.
Kay Cathers from Toronto visit-
ed with her father Jack Cathers.
Friday, Ann Smith played
hymns on the piano and everyone
rested after the busy holiday
season.

Rev. Victor and Mrs. Jamieson, Anne of London, Heather of
Waterloo, and Ken at home visited with relatives in Sudbury for
Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs. John Tooth, Gregory and Lorraine of Toronto visited
with the latter's mother, Mrs. Winona Martin of Brussels.
Mrs. Marjorie Ritchie of Brussels spent Christmas with Mr. and
Mrs. Don Krick of Hamilton, the latter being her daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Mulvey, Caroline, Julie and Brian of Belmore
spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Verne Heipfer. Mrs. Winona
Martin was also present.
Family guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Fischer and Kendra
were Mr. and Mrs. Simon Van der berg and family of London; Dr.
Barrie and Mrs. Neable of Listowel; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Boyd and
family of Kurtzville; Mr. and Mrs. Murray Fischer of Brussels; and
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fischer of Brussels.
Mrs. Jean Bewley and her mother Mrs. Mary Yuill of Brussels spent
Christmas in Bolton with the former's daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Baker and family. A special gift to Mr. and Mrs. Baker was the gift of a
son on December 24.
Mr. and Mrs. William Elson of Morris had a Christmas celebration.
Those attending were: Mrs. Jean Bewley and her mother, Mrs. Mary
Yuill; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowman and Jim of Morris; Mr. and Mrs.
Maitland Edgar and Dean of Petrolia; Mr. and Mrs. Brian Edgar and
family of Brigden; Mr. and Mrs. Barrie Edgar and family of Petrolia;
and Miss Brenda Edgar of Wingham.
Rev. James and Mrs. Perrie and family of Fenwick and Mrs. Brenda
Perrie and family spent Boxing Day with Mr. and Mrs. William Perrie
in Grey.
New Year's Day dinner guests with Sheila Richards were Audrey
and Jim McKinney, Burlington; Dorothy and John Stephen, Mitchell;
Mary, Ross and Ann Procter, Belgrave; Helen and Robert Richards,
Hanover, and Jane and Douglas Richards, Brussels.
Spending New Year's Day at the home of Mrs. Tom Baker were Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Baker and family of Schomberg; Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Gawne and daughter Kelley of London; and Mr. and Mrs. Stan Baker
and son Thomas of Brussels.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Huether, Jeffrey and Kevin, Brampton; Mr. and
Mrs. Roger Tipple, Jonathon and Sarah, Burlington; and Mr. and
Mrs. Gary Ritchie, Scarborough, spent the Christmas week with Mr.
and Mrs. Murray Huether and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Huether and
Sandra and Sheri of Brussels.
On the Sunday previous to Christmas Mr. and Mrs. Don McDonald
and Mr. and Mrs. Ken McDonald joined them to enjoy a Christmas
celebration with Mrs. Edna McDonald of Huronview at the Blue
Fountain Restaurant in Clinton. Mrs. Marie McTaggart also joined
them.
Mr. Wayne Willis and Lucie Roy of Edmonton were in Brussels for a
holiday visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Archie Willis and family of
Brussels.
Correction in prize winners
In the report of the Brussels cates were donated by McCut-
Christmas Wishes draw winners in cheon Groceries. They were won
last week's newspaper a line was by Julie Mitchell and Sharon
omitted. The two $50 gift certifi- Stephenson.

Park in an exhibit entitled 'Celebration of Amateur Sport'
presented by Sports and Fitness Ontario.
