UCW has successful 'recipe for 1985 Anglican Church of Canada CHRISTMAS EVE CAROLS & CANDLELIGHT FAMILY EUCHARIST 7 p.m. - St. John's, Brussels 9p.m. -St. Mark's, Auburn 11 p.m. - Trinity Church, Blyth RECTOR: THE REV. ROBIN LYONS At the Dec. 16 meeting of the Blyth U.C.W., good use of analogy made a unique setting for the presentation of reports by unit leaders, heads of departments and other executive members. President Susan Howson, wear- ing chef's cap and apron, and with bowl, spoon andbake pan in full view, produced a successful U.C.W. 1985 Christmas cake. Instructions in the recipe book - the Bible - had been closely followed. The cake's ingredients consisted of the material in the 10 reports given, ranging all the way from work done in the Community Friendship Dept. to that of World Outreach. Barbara Musty's style of wor- ship service gave every one a chance to sing two verses from seven Christmas carols. Preceding the singing ofeach, Barbara gave a short resume of the life and the motivation of each composer who produced the verses which are loved by Christians throughout the world. By request, Winona McDougall rendered, with wonderful expres- sion, a piano solo, "Star of the East." She gladly fulfills this request each year. The group asked Rev. Bauman to express to his wife Joanne best wishes for a speedy recovery from illness. Members expressed words of appreciation for the leadership of their president, Susan Howson; for the enjoyable worship service of Barbara Musty; and for the cookies and Christmas cake, served by Shirley Shobbrook, Debbie Pierce, Barbara Musty and Emily Philips. Rev. Ken Bauman conducted the installation of Officers for 1986. They are: president, Susan How- son; first vice-president, R. Patti- son; second vice-president, B. Musty; secretary, A. Campbell; assistant secretary, Fern McDow- ell; corresponding secretary, Len- ora Davidson; treasurer, Debbie Pierce; summer catering treasur- er, Mary Holland; nominating convenor, M.
