tonight (Dec. 23)towork out job

In other business, council asked
the clerk to write to owners of
properties who had earlier been
told they couldn't build on the land
because it was not serviced by
sewers to say that under new
regulations the status of the
property may have changed (al-
though council is not sure).
On a similar topic, council asked
Clerk Stuart Parker to investigate a
new government fund which made
$75 million available to help reduce
deficits for municipal sewerage
works to see if there would be
money available for phase two of
the sewerage plan which would
expand the area served to the arena
and other parts of town.
Council voted to give $125 to the
Wingham and District Association
for the Mentally Retarded.
Council concurred with a resolu-
tion from the Township of London
asking the Workman's Compensa-
tion Board to cover volunteer
firemen who have heart problems
while at work. Currently, the
Workmen's Compensation Board
will not recognize heart problems
as work-related.
The next council meeting will be
Monday, January 6 at 10 a.m.
