Shut-in residents of Belgrave and former Be[grave residents as far away as Goderich, Luelmow, and Brussels were treated to a tasty gift for the holiday season when Olive Campbell, Jane Grasby and Helen Stonehouse recently put together shut-ins plates. Some 27 treats were made up and distributed. Brussels council and PUC to formulate job descriptions Brussels council and Public Utilities Commission will meet tonight (Dec. 23)towork out job descriptions for their employees. Attheir regular meeting Dec. 16, council discussed the need to set out the duties of each employee and the chain of command in the village employees. Councillor Mal- colm Jacobs questioned the need forjob descriptions but reeve Hank Ten Pas explained that if there was a change in personnel as there was last year when long-time clerk- treasurer Bill King retired, coun- cillors were often at a loss to know what the exact duties of the position were. In other business, council asked the clerk to write to owners of properties who had earlier been told they couldn't build on the land because it was not serviced by sewers to say that under new regulations the status of the property may have changed (al- though council is not sure). On a similar topic, council asked Clerk Stuart Parker to investigate a new government fund which made $75 million available to help reduce deficits for municipal sewerage works to see if there would be money available for phase two of the sewerage plan which would expand the area served to the arena and other parts of town. Council voted to give $125 to the Wingham and District Association for the Mentally Retarded. Council concurred with a resolu- tion from the Township of London asking the Workman's Compensa- tion Board to cover volunteer firemen who have heart problems while at work. Currently, the Workmen's Compensation Board will not recognize heart problems as work-related.
