Library. Presenting the atlas are Barb Grube, Joan Smith and Margaret McMahon. Accepting is Ethel

Ethel's population was increas-
ed by one this last week when
Kimberly Rose Dobson was born
on December 12 at the Wingham
Hospital. Kimberly is the newest
addition to the Jim and Sharron
Dobson family.
Bill and Helen Dobson visited in
the village over the weekend.
Heather and Tammy are going to
return to Cambridge with their
grandparents for a week.
Congratulations to Clarence and
JoAnne (Wright) den Dekker who
were married on December 13. An
open reception was held at the
Brussels, Morris and Grey Com-
munity Centre.
Several local people attended
the 50th Anniversary party held in
the Brussels Arena for Jack and
Jean Conley.
The people of Grey Township are
proud to have Leona Armstrong as
the first lady Warden for Huron
County. Reeve Armstrong invited
the public to attend a reception in
the Goderich and District Com-
munity Centre on December 10.
Sunday, December 15 was
White Gift Sunday at the Ethel
Presbyterian Church. The Sunday
School children had the program
portion, followed by a pot luck
dinner.
Michele McMahon home from
Thunder Bay for Christmas holi-
days reports our amount of snow is
minimal and it is not as cold as at
the Bay.
The fog last Monday night didn't
deter seven tables of card players
from coming out to play euchre.
The host was Bob Bremner of the
Hall Board. The following people
were lucky players: high lady and
man, Lois McLean and Lloyd
Smith; low lady and man, Dorothy
Cox and Arian Verstoep; most lone
hands, Beryl Smith and Keith
Turnbull; table prize, Ross Steph-
enson, Jim Smith Dorothy Hamil-
ton and Margaret McMahon;
draws, Scott McLean, Thelma
Keffer, Stan and Helen Alexander.
Plan to attend the Grey Central
School Christmas Concert on
Wednesday, December 18, 7:30
p.m. The students of grades 2, 5, 6,
and kindergarten are responsible
for the program.
Recently the Huron County
Library, Ethel was donated a copy
of the new Huron County Atlas by
some member of the Ethel W.I. It
was felt a copy should be available
for loan on a one week at a time
basis. Mrs. Olive Sproule accepted
for the Library.
Rebekahs dine
Western Star Lodge held a
supper for Rebekah and Odd-
fellows and friends on Dec. 3.
Karla King gave a report on her
trip to the United Nations which
was sponsored by the Rebekahs
and Oddfellow of Huron District.
She had slides of her trip and
entertained the gathering with a
song accompanied by her mother
Joanne.
