White Gift Sunday held at Blyth United Church
Blyth United Church was very
beautifully decorated for the Sun-
day School Christmas Pageant and
White Gift Service on Sunday
morning.
Rev. Robin Lyons welcomed
everyone on the second Sunday of
Advent to the celebration of Holy
Baptisn. and Eucharist.
Vic Stackhouse of Auburn read
the Old Testament Lesson Ezekiel
36: V24-28 also the epistle Romans
8: V14 - 17.
The choir sang a lovely anthem,
"He Loved Me When".
Rev. Lyons had the children
come forward and he spoke of the
lighting of the second candle in the
Advent Wreath.
Due to the illness of the Rt. Rev.
Wm. Townshend, Great Grand-
father of Jonathan James Lyons.
the Rev. Peter Townshend of
Leamington baptized his nephew
and God-Child.
This was a memorable occasion,
the Baptismal party being God-
father Beck Lyons and Godmother
Mary Townshend. The parish
sponsors were Esther and Jack
McCutcheon. Rev. Robin Lyons
and Rev. Peter Townshend presen-
ted communion to all.
The white gifts were placed at
the front of the church for the
Huron County Christmas Bureau.
