Morris council adopts
assessment review
Sunday school
holds concert
M.C. Bonnie Lamble welcomed
the large crowd of children,
parents, grandparents and friends
to the Annual Sunday School
Christmas Concert held in the
basement of Duff's United Church
opening with a couple of Christmas
carols assisted by Marie McGavin
at the piano.
Bonnie announced the following
program put on by the Sunday
School children. Nursery recita-
tions given by Chad McCallum,
Janice McCallum, Marlene John-
son, Jillian Houston, Sarah Mc-
Lellan and Amanda Gamble.
Teachers were Maxine Marks and
her assistant, Maxine Houston.
A piano solo was played by
Michael Craig, "Away in a Man-
ger." Tonia McClure played "The
First Noel."
Nursery and Primary Classes
performed a play entitled "A Very
Special Night." Head Angel was
Lisa Gingerich. Angels were Mar-
lene Johnson, Janice McCallum,
Kerrie McClure, Lee Ann McDon-
ald, Sarah McLellan. Joseph was
Chad McCallum; Mary, Stacy
Linton; the Three Wise Men, Neil
Saur, Tara McLellan and Trish
Clark; Shepherds, Randy Linton,
Sarah Lamble, Craig Gillis. The
Donkey was Shannon Davies, the
cow, Amanda Gamble.
The children sang first verses of
"Silen Night" and "Away in a
Manger" with the audience join-
ing in. Teachers were Gloria Love
and her assistant, Nita McClure.
"Christmas Chopsticks" was
played by Susan Carter. "Santa
Claus is coming to town" was
played by Nancy Godkin.
Junior Class I presented "The
Safety First Christmas". Sir Safety
was Andrea Gingerich; The Roller
Skate Elf, Lori McClure; Ice Skate
Elf, Shannon Craig; Sled Elf,
Sharon Godkin; Wagon Elves,
Barbara Lamble and Heather
Eckel; Stove Elf, Chris Saur; Toy
Elf, Cindy McCallum; Pickup Elf,
Chris Davies.
The teacher is Dianne McCal-
lum.
A trio of Trish Clark, Lisa
Gingerich and Tara McLellan sang
"Jingle Bells". The Silver Skates
was paid by Sarah Lamble.
Junior Class II put ona skit
entitled - "Outwitting a Will".
Samuel Clark was portrayed by
Greg Fritz; Mrs. Clark, Susan
Carter; Bert, Chris Eckel; Chub,
Danny Taylor; Slim, Greg Clark;
Smith, Randy McClure; Mrs.
White, Elizabeth Lamble. The
class's teacher is Helen Craig.
A piano solo, "Twinkle, Twinkle
Little Star"' was played by Lee
Ann McDonald. "Good King
Wenceslas" was played by Stacey
Linton. "Joy to the World" and
"Away in a Manger" were played
by Andrea Gingerich.
The Senior Class put on a play
entitled "The Carolers". Mr.
Winters was played by Manny
Taylor; Mrs. Winters by Nancy
Godkin; First Caroler, Steve Fritz;
second caroler, Brian Love; Third
Caroler, Tonia McClure; Fourth
Caroler, Ron Stevenson.
Their teacher is Marie McGavin.
Elizabeth, Barbara and Sarah
Lamble sang "Every Star Shall
Sing a Carol". "Silent Night" was
played by Shannon Craig.
The senior class put on a comical
skit entitled "Preparing for the
Day." "The Holly and the Ivy" and
"Up on the House Top" were
played by Sharon Godkin. "Waltz
of the Christmas Toys" was played
by Barbara Lamble.
Bonnie Lamble expressed her
thanks to the teachers for their
work in preparing for the concert,
the audience showed their appre-
ciation in the usual way.
Now came a visit from a special
guest. As Glenda Carter played
Jingle Bells, Santa arrived amid all
the excitement of the children who
were then treated to a bag of candy.

Duff's Church holds
communion service
Hoegy. Elva Wilbee was organist.
Serving the bread and wine for
the communion were: Bruce Clark,
Edith Wey, Margaret Craig, Ray
Huether, Emmerson Mitchell,
Graeme Craig, Barry Hoegy and
Roy Williamson.
The second candle for Advent
was lit by Marion Godkin with her
daughter Donna giving prayer.
New auxilliary ministers
at St. Ambrose Church
Five new Auxiliary Ministers will take holy communion to the

On the evening ofDecember 3
John Garrett and Ted Ingam spoke
to Morris Township council on the
Assessment Impact Study.
The lowest assessment value on
Morris land was between 1980 and
1984. Was in 1984 when the value
of farm land was $800 per acre.
Since the 1975 based assement,
the value of farm land had doubled
and buildings weredown 50 per
cent.
Council decided to adopt the
study based on 1984 market
values. A public meeting to discuss
the Secondary Plan will be held
Tuesday. March 4, 1986 at the
Brussels, Morris and Grey Comm-
unity Centre. The Rev. Cheryl-Ann Stadel-
bauer - Sampa of Egmondville
United Church took the second
Sunday in Advent service at Duff's
United while Bonnie Lamble was in
the pulpit at Egmondville.
Greeters were Graeme and
Helen Craig. Ushers were Keith
Wilbee, John Huether and Barry

To the residents of Brussels, I wish to say thank you
for your co-operation over these many years that I
have been your councillor, P.U.C. commissioner,
Reeve and Warden. I consider it an honour to have
served the village and to have been your
representative on county council.
I extend my best wishes and support to Hank Ten
Pasand our council. I'm sure they will do their best to
serve the community in a responsible manner.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy
