bake sale at the Brussels Library on
Friday and Saturday.

CLARENCE JOHN PEGELO
Clarence John Pegelo, former
operator of the C. J. Pegelo
Harness Shop and Shoe Repair in
Brussels died Dec. 2, 1985 in Grace
Hospital, Windsor.
Mr. Pegelo had been a resident
of the Richmond Nursing Home,
Amherstburg. He was predeceas-
ed in 1975 by his wife, the former
Dorothy Messinger. One brother,
Wilfred Pegelo of Cargill and two
sisters Clara Barrett of Amherst-
It was another busy week at
Callanders with everyone getting
into the Christmas Spirit.
Brussels United Church group
with Rev. Carpentier conducting
the sermon visited Sunday after-
noon. Monday residents stayed
inside playing bingo during the
first snow storm. Fred Thuell's
gang entertained with their old
time music Tuesday evening.
Card games were played on
Wednesday and Ruth Hinton
painted our windows so appropri-
ately for the joyous season. Many
thanks Ruth from the residence
and staff.
Thursday Ann Smith played the
piano in the morning and in the
afternoon the ladies baked tea
biscuits and pumpkin pies with
pumpkins from the garden with
Ella Graber and Debbie Trollope in
charge. Needless to say everyone
enjoyed the bisuits and jam in the
afternoon and delicious pumpkin
pie that our residents made for
supper.

The funeral service was held
Dec. 5, 1985 from St. John's
Anglican Church, Brussels after
resting at the M. L. Watts Funeral
home in Brussels. Rev. Robin
Lyons conducted the ceremony.
Interment was in Brussels ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Ross Nichol,
Bill Stephenson, Ralph Pearson,
Bill Young, Jack McCutcheon and
George Pearson.
Also Thursday Marion Lether-
land, Audrey Seaton, Jim Laurie.
and Frank Dunn enjoyed a bus trip
to the Stone Road Mall in Guelph
where they dined out and went
Christmas Shopping with the
Home Bound group from Wing-
ham.
Friday Karen Cardiff led the
discussion group with a talk about
Christmas now and long ago. Cec.
Moore is a patient in Wingham and
District Hospital. Staff and Resi-
dents all wish Cec. a speedy
recovery.

December land continuing to March 71...from 2
