We wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson attended the Bluewater Blind Club Christmas dinner November 30 in Seaforth. Weekend visitor with Mr. and Mrs. John Pollard was her sister Agnes Rhoads from Stratford. Visiting on the weekend with Mrs. Jean Scott were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Scott and son from Escon- oido, California. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Glousher were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Glousher in God- erich. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Allen spent the weekend with his brother Dr. and Mrs. Lester Allen, Watford. Jennifer Hodgens of Vanastra visited on the weekend with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wil- mer Glousher. The U.C.W. Christmas meeting will be held on December 9, with a pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m. Bring a guest and bring a gift for the Survival through Friendship Home in Goderich. Groceries, baby gifts, pampers, etc. are all welcome Fifty-one attended the Novem- ber 27 meeting. The blessing was sung and all enjoyed a bountiful hot turkey Christmas dinner served by W.I. A note of thanks was expressed by Audrey Thompson and Margaret Anderson replied. There will be no December meeting. Cards were played and A large congregation attended the White Gift Service on Sunday morning. Greeters were Rev. Snihur and Nancy Penfound. Ushers were Fred Peel, Brian Howatt, Michael Radford and Bryan Whyte. The Juniors occupied the front pews with their teachers Crystal Whyte and Brenda Konarski. The Junior choir sang the anthems. The organist was Lisa Duizer and the choir •director was Marsha Szusz. Rev. Snihur welcomed all and gave the announcements. Next Sunday an untrimmed tree will be in the church and everyone is to bring one Christmas Ornament. Our Christmas pot luck dinner will be on December 15 immediately following church. On December 15 at 7:30 p.m. a joint interdenomi- national Christmas service will be held in Blyth Memorial Hall. Rev. Snihur gave the Call to Worship. The service was con- ducted by Sunday School pupils and prepared by teachers. The ushers were dressed as shepherds. The lighting of the first advent candle was done by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson. The story presentation was "Only a Stable" followed by the presentation of white gifts and ring. Everyone d inner presented winners were: ladies high, Estella Adams; lone hands, Mae Smith; low, Mary Longman; men, Jean Scott, (playing as a man); lone hands, Clare Vincent; and low, Jack Armstrong. A draw donated by Clare Vincent was won by Estella Adams. them at the altar. Rev. Snihur thanked all who helped with the service, closing with the commis- sioning and the Benediction. Beth Knox, Clara Riley, Ora Bruce, Betsy Verway and Viola Riley enjoyed the tour of the Christmas Festival of Lights at Niagara on the weekend by Leisureway Tours. SHUFFLEBOARD On November 27 there were 15 present at shuffleboard. The winn- ers were Helen Lawson, Genevieve Allen and Jack Lee. W.I. CARDS There were eight tables in play Friday. The winners were: high lady, Bernice McClinchey, Blyth; lone hands, Elsie Shaddick; low, Dorothy Daer, Blyth; men's high, MargaretTaylor, playing as a man; lone hands, Elmer Townsend, Seaforth; and low, Reg.
