Kevin Buchanan 523-4244 Du HURON TRACTOR We're Very Big On Service BLYTH Jos- The general meeting of the U.C.W. was held November 28 at 8:30 p.m. Mrs. Murray Vincent opened the meeting with a Christmas worship service assisted by Mrs. Bob Gordon. "Silent Night" was sung followed by a scripture reading from Luke 2, verses 8 - 20. The offering was received by Mrs. Les Shaw and Annie Cook and dedicated by Mrs. Murray Vin- cent. Mrs. Bob Gordon gave a reading "Look At Christmas" and "Joy to the World" was sung. The President, Mrs. John Ro- berts, welcomed Miss Alison Coultes and Mrs. Paul Cook who sang "Christmas In Killarney" and "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day" accompanied on the piano by Mrs. George John- ston. The minutes of the last meeting were read and the treasurer's report given. Correspondence was read from the Town and Country Homemakers, Alma College and The Resource Centre. It was decided to buy Bibles for the Sunday School and a poinsettia for the church sanctuary. Donations were made to Town and Country Homemakers, Child- ren's Aid, Alma College, Youth Group and the World Development and Relief Fund. Reports were read by various committee convenors and the nominating committee reported the new officers for 1986. U.C.W. Officers for 1986 are: past president, Mrs. Kay Roberts; president, Mrs. Edith Vincent; Blyth, East Wawanosh, West Wawanosh and Ashfield support- ers of the Roman Catholic Separate School board will have a new face representing them for the next three years. Bernie Van Osh replaces Bill Kinahan as local representative. There are two other new faces on the board: Ben Brown, who defeated Tim McDonnell in Ellice township and Ray Van Vliet representing Downie, North East- hope and South Easthope. Vincent McInnes, trustee repre- senting the Wingham area man- first vice-president. Mrs. Wilma Higgins; treasurer, Mrs. Donna Shaw; assistant treasurer and stewardship and finance leader, Mrs. Mary Taylor; secretary and communications, Mrs. Laura Johnston; assistant secretary, Mrs. Mary Hunter; church in society, Mrs. Mabel Wheeler and Mrs. Janet Mathers; World Out- reach, Mrs. Muriel Coultes. Christian Development commit- tee includes, Mrs. Wilma Higgins, Mrs. Clarence Yuill, Mrs. Marie McIntosh; In Church services, Mrs. Margaret Taylor, Mrs. Thel- ma Pletch, Mrs. Freda Johnston. Social Committee includes Mrs. Mary Hunter, Mrs. Ruth Gordon, Mrs. Jane Grasby, and Mrs. Linda Campbell; Leader Development, Mrs. Doris Michie; Auditors, Mrs. Bernice Higgins, Mrs. Donelda Cottrill; Nominating committee, Mrs. Linda Campbell, Mrs. Doris Michie, Mrs. Kay Robert, Mrs. Helen Martin; Pianist, Mrs. Fred Johrston; Archives, Mrs. Olive Bolt. The next meeting will be held January 30 at 6:30 p.m. with a pot luck supper. Mrs. John Roberts, president, thanked everyone for their support during her term of office. Mrs. Jack Taylor introduced the program, a play called "Gifts Money Can't Buy" presented by Mrs. Jack Taylor, Mrs. Les Shaw, Mrs. Ross Anderson, Mrs. Laura Johnston. Mrs. Roberts closed the meeting with everyone repeating the Mis- pah Benediction. aged to keep his seat in an election. Returning to the school board are: Mike Moriarity from the Goderich-Clinton area, Ron Murray from McKillop Township, Gerald Groothius from the Sea- forth area and Dave Durand from the Hensall-Zurich area; Michael Ryan from the Exeter area, John Devlin and Ron Murray both represent Stratford, Arthur Haid is from the Listowel-Hesson- Milverton area; Ernie Vander- schott from the St. Marys-Mitchell area and Louis Maloney from Hibbert and Logan Townships. Turkey bingo draws large crowd A large crowd attended the Belgrave Kinsmen Annual Turkey Bingo which was held in the Women's Institute Hall on Friday evening. Winners for the Turkey Bingo were: George Johnston, Karen Casemore. Harvey Black, Hilda Vincent, Wanta Curtis, Irene Lamont, Heather Hopper, Donna Shaw, Ann McKercher and Treva Jamieson. Share the Wealth winners were John McKercher and Treva Jamie- son. Door prizes were won by Kim Edgar, Clarence Hanna and Albert Cook. Local woman moves to Brussels Miss Dorothy Higgins has now taken up residence in the Callander Nursing Home, Brussels. Mr. and Mrs. Vince Makas and Alicia of London spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler. Mrs. Gerald Watson of Forest spent a few days last week with her sister-in-law Mrs. Roy Pattison. Ten Belgrave residents enjoyed a two-day trip with Leisure Tours of Hanover to the Winter Festival of Lights at Niagara. They also attended the Eddy Arnold and Pacific Pearl Show.
