The Blyth Post Office has that Christmas feeling thanks to artwork by students from Blyth Public School, Lori Armstrong [left] and Lisa Bailey decorate one of the windows at the post office. Threshers report profitable year Despite the worst weather in the 24-year history of the annual Thresher Reunion, the Huron Pioneer Threshers and Hobby Association Inc. reported a profit for the year when it held its annual meeting Nov. 23 at Blyth Memorial Hall. The 45 members present receiv- The Blyth Swinging Seniors held their November meeting in the Memorial Hall on Wednesday, November 27 under the chairman- ship of President John Hessel- wood. The meeting began with a pot luck dinner followed by a sing song with Ruby Philp at the piano. Happy Birthday was sung to Reg. Schultz. Jim Lawrie, Harvey Mc- Dowell, Millar Richmond and Lloyd Walden accompanied by Ella Richmond at the piano sang three very enjoyable quartettes. The rest of the program consisted offour old- time films shown by George Harrower. Important items to note are: 1. There will not be a meeting in December, but there will be a pot-luck dinner on Wednesday, January 8. 1986; 2. The Blyth ed a copy of a treasurer's report that showed a profit of $1281. Next year will see the 25th anniversary of the Thresher Re- union and plans are already underway. Anyone who has sug- gestions for the celebration should contact the secretary, Marian Hallahan as soon as possible. A new executive will lead the Legion will entertain the seniors on Wednesday afternoon, January 22; 3. There is a card game in the Legion Hall on December 7 at 8 p.m. Association into its silver anniver- sary year. Raymond Hallahan has stepped down so Bill Vincent was elected president for the next two years. Bea Houston will be first vice-president and Bob Reid, second vice-president. Three new directors elected for a three year term are: Jim Sloan, of Chesley; Joe Hallahan, Blyth and Norm Cook Belgrave. A moment of silence was observed in memory of members or member's families who had died in the past year. The members enjoyed seeing themselves on avideo tape that had been made of the Sunday afternoon activities at this year's reunion. Blyth Swinging Seniors hold meeting
